This weekend marked a bittersweet milestone moment for Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos.
On Aug. 27, the morning talk-show host, 45, shared a photo of their three kids all together for the last time before the eldest, son Michael, headed off to college.
"Saying goodbye to big bro, the college freshman. (Whilst conspiring to take over his bedroom.) 🎓👓📚🎬," Kelly captioned the snapshot, which also featured Michael's siblings Joaquin, 13, and Lola, 15.
In early June, Mark, 45, acknowledged that his son was growing up in a major way when they celebrated Michael's 19th birthday.
"Happy bday to my eldest. Love you Michael. My mini me is now major me," Mark wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself with Michael.
Two weeks later, the family marked another milestone: Michael's high school graduation.
"The Graduate, his father, his brother, his grandfather," Kelly captioned a photo of the males in the family from behind. "Congratulations HE! We are so proud. 🎓🎉."
The Consuelos gang threw a graduation party for their eldest at Locanda Verde restaurant in New York City afterward, where celeb pals including Andy Cohen and Lucy Liu were in attendance, "Entertainment Tonight" reported at the time.
That same month on "Live With Kelly," Kelly and her husband of two decades -- who was guest-hosting alongside her -- marveled at reaching this point in their lives. "How are we old enough to have a kid that's going to college?" Kelly wondered aloud.
"We've got big plans for his bedroom, big plans," she half-joked. "That bedroom is going to be turned into a mega-closet before you can say 'university.'"
The photogenic family has been spending time together ahead of Michael's departure. (Kelly and Mark have not revealed where Michael is attending college.) Two weeks ago, Mark shared a pic of the whole group out for a meal.
"The band is back together again... Brunch with the Consuelos gang," he captioned that Instagram pic.
Kelly's been anticipating Michael leaving the nest for a while now. "We just finished all of our applications and I cannot for the life of me, I can't believe it," she told ABC News last November.
"Every time he's leaves the house, I stare at Mark and say, 'I cannot believe we gave birth to that kid.' He's so much bigger than us. He's so much taller than us. He's so much cooler than us, without even knowing he's cool," she added. "I adore all three of them, but there's something about that firstborn child going off. It feels crazy."
