After spending some time defending herself on Twitter this week, Kim Kardashian West opted to start a new social media platform on March 8 -- Snapchat!
The reality star announced her debut in the Snapchat world late that night, and utilized another social media site for her announcement.
"I'm on snapchat now! Add me- KimKardashian 🍑" Kim posted on Instagram, along with her self described "very 1st snap." In the photo Kim poses next to big sister Kourtney Kardashian, who has yet to make her debut on the Snapchat app.
Kim's little sister Kylie Jenner already dominates the world of Snapchat, boasting more followers than any other user on the site. Kim might be Kylie's most formidable opponent when it comes to Snapchat popularity, since the star beats her little sister's Instagram followers by 10 million, with 62.9 followers on the picture platform.
This news comes on the heels of Kim's Twitter feuds with fellow celebs Bette Midler and Chloe Grace Moretz. After Kim posted a nude selfie on March 7, many stars reacted negatively to the photo. Kim responded by lashing out on Twitter directly, before posting a poignant blog post about the drama. The controversy came well timed, Kim's words were posted on International Women's Day, and she voiced the importance of women being comfortable in their own skin.
Kim cited the strong women in her family as being the ones that helped her empower herself, and stressed the importance of passing these lessons on to her daughter, North West. "I want her to be proud of who she is. I want her to be comfortable in her body. I don't want her to grow up in a world where she is made to feel less-than for embracing everything it means to be a woman," Kim wrote.
The star finished her blog post on a powerful note. "I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me. I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy," Kim concluded.
