Before she started "incubating" in Grammy eggs and tattooing claws on her back, Stefani Germanotta was just a nice girl from a happy Italian family in New York. And it sounds like that's the persona Lady Gaga's going back to as she plans her trip down the aisle with fiance Taylor Kinney.
A source tells the New York Post the Mother Monster "wants a big Italian wedding" that will "celebrate her heritage, so they're looking at places in the Italian countryside."
That may be about as far as the happy couple has gotten, planning-wise, though.
"They're still enjoying their engagement, so they have to figure out the right time to do it," adds the source, noting that Gaga and Taylor aren't in full-planning mode yet.
Whenever they do start making decisive plans, it looks like they'll have plenty of help in the fashion department.
Lady G.'s already been offered wedding gown assistance from designers including Reem Acra, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Diane von Furstenberg, Monique Lhuillier and Mara Hoffman, the Post reports, although insiders suspect Gaga's previous work with Versace will give her pal Donatella Versace a big advantage as she chooses someone to create the look for her big day.
"The venue is going to inspire the dress, so she has to lock that in first. It'll make her figure out what the dress will be and who will make it," says the source.
Taylor proposed to the singer last year, and the couple celebrated their happy news with family at Gaga's parents' Italian restaurant Joanne Trattoria in New York.
"He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day," she later gushed on Instagram, "and I said YES!"
