Mariah Carey has something to celebrate! After more than a year of stalling, her ex Nick Cannon has finally agreed to sign their divorce papers so that she can ready herself to marry her fiance, Australian businessman James Packer, whom she got engaged to in January.
Break out the bubbly -- it's time to party!
In what looks like celebratory posts, the 46-year-old took to Instagram on Friday, June 17, and shared two videos of herself, drinking champagne in a scantily clad ensemble. The chart-topping superstar, who showed off some serious cleavage in a skimpy black top, played and danced around with a bottle of champs in her hand. The songstress, whose diamond necklace also drew some eyes, is currently living it up in Las Vegas while performing her residency #1 to Infinity at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Hours before the videos were posted, Cannon shared a four-minute rap called "Divorce Papers" on SoundCloud and his social media accounts in which he talked about his headline-making split from the pop icon.
He got straight to the point and got pretty personal in his emotional freestyle rap, when he flat out says, "F*** it, I'll sign these papers."
The rap also focused on the funnyman's love for his five-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan.
Nick went on in the rap, "What we really need to think about is how a child deals/ how a child feels/ because we got two."
"It's f***ed up that the time that you spend with your own kids is called visitation," said the "America's Got Talent" host.
Nick continued, "My daughter said 'Daddy, why your eyes in tears?'/ because last time I dropped your brother off, I didn't get a call the next day and it felt like years/ and Imma be honest sometimes I hate to hear/ ya'll on the other line having fun without me."
Aww, our hearts hurt …
Despite the emotional rap, Nick said that he and his ex are doing well. with KarenCivil and said that he and his ex are doing well.
The 35-year-old recently told KarenCivil in an interview, "My ex and I are in a great place and are diligently moving things along so we both can continue to be happy. I am happy for her and all her new endeavors, both personal ones and professional ones."
The "Wild 'n Out" star also wanted to be clear why he was coming out with the rap, explaining, "My purpose for creating this 'Divorce Papers' freestyle was not to feed the tabloid chatter, or even to diffuse it," he explained. "This was strictly a creative way for me to express my frustrations with the media, the naysayers, myself and ultimately with the voices in my head ... I've been sitting on the song for almost a week now because I was really torn on whether or not I should release it. ... But, ultimately I felt it was necessary to clear the air and set the record straight once and for all."
Nick and Mariah were married in 2008 and separated in August 2014. Nick eventually filed for divorce in December 2014.
