Mariah Carey was hospitalized in the early morning hours of Dec. 2 after falling severely ill in New York.
TMZ reports that the songstress was hooked up to IV's and was receiving fluids and vitamins to fight off a nasty flu bug. "She was so dehydrated and ill," the website said.
Her team was reportedly intensely worried about her health and they made the call to get her emergency treatment.
The hospitalization came just a few hours after she made an appearance at New Yorks' Pier 1. She even posted a photo from the event to Instagram, saying, "Had so much fun at the #pier1popup holiday party. Let's get festive and start decorating for the holidays, #lambily!"
It was just after leaving there that the "Hero" singer began feeling the affects of the flu.
Mariah, it seems, is extra concerned about regaining her health because she has a performance this weekend at Hot 97's "Hot for the Holidays" concert in New Jersey.
All indications are that she will be fine and is likely to be released on Dec. 2.
Perhaps her determination to nail this weekend's performance comes from her wanting to redeem herself from her holiday mishap last year. If you'll recall, Mariah came under fire in December 2014 when she performed live at NBC's "Christmas in Rockefeller Center," but visibly struggled to hit the high notes that she's known for. She was also several hours late to the performance.
'Tis the season to forgive and forget.
