Morena Baccarin's ex-husband is fighting the actress in order to keep their son from visiting her dying grandmother in Brazil.
The "Gotham" actress' ex, Austin Chick, says this has nothing to do with sour grapes, but it has to do with mosquitoes. He doesn't want their 3-year-old son, Julius, going because he fears the boy could contract the Zika virus in the South American country.
TMZ obtained court documents that indicate Morena asked Austin last month for his consent, but he refused. He told her that the Center of Disease Control recently said it doesn't know the long-term affects that Zika can have on children, and he doesn't want to take any chances.
The actress said she doesn't fear Zika, claiming that their son's pediatrician said the virus is "not a concern" for the tyke.
Morena, who also starred in "Homeland," is asking the court to overrule her ex and let Julius spend time with his ailing great grandmother.
Zika, though, isn't Austin's only gripe about Brazil. Court docs explain that he also doesn't want his son there because he fears that the country is unsafe. TMZ says Morena doesn't buy his argument, though, saying he never had an issue with the country when they traveled there before their divorce.
The couple rarely speaks publicly about their daughter or each other, but last February, the actress said of Ben, "You get to go to work with the person you love every single day, and it's really nice. I think we'd rarely get to see each other otherwise. So it's really fun."
