It seems that NeNe Leakes' days on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" are numbered ... or even over already.
The 9th season of the popular Bravo show has been taping for several weeks now, but NeNe is not anywhere near a "Housewives" camera crew, according to TMZ.
The celebrity website says producers have added at least one new cast member, and NeNe "doesn't look to be part of plans going forward." She could have "guest appearances" on the show, much like she did last season, but as of now, that looks like a remote possibility.
NeNe is the only remaining "Housewife" from the original cast. Since first starring on the show, NeNe has begun her own clothing line and has her own game show. Oftentimes she also guest hosts pop culture shows.
After season 7, NeNe announced that she was leaving the show.
"After seven seasons of being part of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,' I can confirm that I am not going to be returning to the show for Season 8," she said in a statement. "I am grateful to Bravo, Andy Cohen and True Entertainment for giving me the opportunity to show the world NeNe Leakes and sometimes to show them NayNay."
Always sure of herself, NeNe openly feared for the show without her, telling People magazine at the time, "I don't know if the show will survive without me. I hope so. … It will just have a little bit of a different tone without me there, for sure."
However, she returned in season 8, but only for guest appearances. Her arrival, though, was kept hush-hush from even the rest of the cast.
The controversial star surprised the cast when she showed up to their retreat in Jamaica. Upon seeing her, many of the women were left speechless.
TMZ said producers called NeNe and began "pleading with her to come back."
