Kelly Ripa continues to feel betrayed and "blindsided" by Michael Strahan's exit from "Live! with Kelly and Michael'.
She was a no-show at the "Live!" taping on Wednesday, April 20, because, according to TMZ, "Kelly feels disrespected and humiliated that she wasn't given the courtesy of a heads-up" that Strahan was leaving their show to go to "Good Morning America" full-time.
"Kelly didn't want to show up to work and mouth off and say something she would have regretted," reports Page Six. "She is upset and didn't want to take it out on her own staff."
According to People, the host was already was scheduled to be on vacation in Turks and Caicos Friday and Monday for a "long-planned" 20th anniversary trip with husband Mark Consuelos, but the big question is will she return at all? And if so, when will she be back?
A new report from TMZ says Ripa is allegedly threatening to boycott the show and is even considering leaving completely, but that might not be possible for financial reasons.
Sources connected to the show tell the news site Ripa needs her sizable paycheck in order to maintain her family's lavish lifestyle.
Ripa reportedly earns "just shy of $15 million" per year, but has a lot of expenses to cover. Kelly and Mark purchased a townhouse on New York City's Upper East Side a year ago, and the couple owns a mansion in The Hamptons.
"She makes a lot of money, but she spends a lot of money, and so does he," a source tells TMZ.
Kelly is furious because she and the show's producer, Michael Gelman, heard about Strahan's departure for the first time on Tuesday April 19, minutes before an announcement was made to the press. This reportedly left them "stunned and upset" since they were in the dark throughout the process and had no plans to replace the NFL legend.
Strahan joined "Live!" full-time in 2011 and will officially head to "Good Morning America" in September.
