Carrie goes to the Capital! Sarah Jessica Parker is about to open her first ever store, but it won't be in New York, as one would expect. Instead, she'll show off her merchandise in Washington, D.C. in the soon-to-open MGM National Harbor.
On Tuesday, Nov. 29, SJP revealed the news on her Instagram, along with a photo of her during a hard hat tour of the under-constriction digs.
"Today I reveal every detail of our long held secret!," she wrote. "After many trips on @amtrak to DC, on-site construction visits, meetings on design and curating a very special collection we are opening our first standalone @sjpcollection store inside the brand new @mgmnationalharbor."
The SJP Collection store will open on Dec. 8.
"I'm counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until we officially open the doors," she said. "Because perhaps then I will actually believe it's real."
In a statement, the "Sex and the City" alum said, "Opening a standalone store has long been a dream we have been working towards and we feel truly privileged to be doing so with the expertise, guidance and support of our brilliant partners at MGM Resorts."
"It's been very exciting to have been involved in all steps of the process, from on-site construction visits to the actual layout and design of our boutique," she said. "I'm honored to be included in this massive undertaking and I'm very much looking forward to celebrating in December."
The SJP Collection boutique store will feature her famous shoes, accessories, handbags and her recently-announced SJP LBD collection.
