In a strange way, prison was a good thing for Teresa Giudice's relationship with her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga.

The latter sat down with In Touch magazine, explaining that they don't bicker anymore, which they consistently did before Teresa was sent away to prison for fraud for nearly a year.

"Drama's behind us. We are good!" Melissa says of her relationship with Teresa. "I think she and I both have realized that we made a lot of silly choices before, and we've come a long way."

She added, "The situation she was in put everything into perspective, and we learned the little things do not matter."

The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" stars' "priorities are a lot different now," Melissa says.

"Arguing over sprinkle cookies and ridiculous things are so behind us," she said. "We are so much bigger and stronger than that now."

Teresa is still adjusting back to life outside the prison walls, but her family is helping her.

"It's all about family. Our kids, our husbands, our parents being happy. That's where we're at," Melissa said. "[Teresa] knows we're here for her, we've always been here for her and anything she needs."

Melissa indicated that her husband, Joe Gorga, will be there for Teresa after Joe Giudice begins his 41-month prison sentence in March.

"I think they need to rely on each other a lot right now, emotionally, and they're doing that," Melissa said of Teresa and Joe. "It's not easy. They're going to take it one day at a time."

In her first red carpet appearance since her pre-Christmas prison release, Teresa said, "Everything is going good, really good."
