"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Phaedra Parks is looking online for love.
"She and I are both single, and we want to be able to use not just our personal resources, but the world-wide web to find possible solutions for single women," she said.
In further describing the untitled app, Phaedra said she wants customers to see it as the "anti-Tinder," which many people see simply as a way to hookup, rather than for real life romance.
"We want ours to be centered on people who really want to be in committed relationships. It's not even going to be available for people who are under 25, because we feel like if you're under 25, you're probably not really focused on committed, serious relationship," she said. "We want people that are interested in lifelong commitments, not just hookups."
The app will be released next year.
While there are many apps that hope to make love connections, Phaedra said the product she and Porsha are designing will be different from anything else in the marketplace because it will include social interaction.
"We want to do social events where people get to meet up and have that interaction with the people who they've met, but not in a one-on-one scenario, but in a group scenario," the newly-single reality TV star said.
In the beginning, the app will be available to only a handful of major metropolitan cities.
"I come into contact with so many women who want to be married, and men, who want to be married and have children, but if you are a professional and have a strong work ethic, you don't have a lot of time to meander through the city looking for the one," Phaedra said. "I think our dating app is going to help you sift through the weeds to find a flower."
