All he needs is a brick cell phone! Zac Efron's new platinum blond look is reminding a lot of people of a certain Bayside High School student.
At the Los Angeles premiere of "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" on Wednesday night, Zac had a perfectly styled coif while addressing the comparisons that his hair looked like something Zack Morris rocked on "Saved By The Bell."
Zac hardly shied away from the comparisons, either.
"Oh my gosh. My hero!" he told Entertainment Tonight of Mark-Paul Gosselaar's iconic character from the late '80s.
Zack (Morris, that is) had trademark hair in which he donned frosted tips. Zac (Efron, that is) said it wasn't exactly his idea to dye his locks that color.
"It was 'Baywatch,' actually. Did it for a part," he said. "I thought I had additional photography in the next upcoming weeks, so I just kind of kept it, and I just talked to the producers and they said that I don't have to reshoot anything for about, like, a year. So I've just been having it for no reason."
Adam DeVine, Zac's costar in "Mike and Dave," joked that his pals is "punk rock and rock and roll" with the 'do.
He may or may not be rock and roll, but he is ripped.
Zac got into insane physical shape for "Baywatch," where he squeezes into tiny red shorts while playing lifeguard Matt Brody.
"He is so regimented about everything he does," a source told UsWeekly of Zac's chiseled body for the film. "Before they shoot a big shirtless sequence, Zac won't have any water for 12 hours to make his muscles look as defined as humanly possible."
"Zac jokes that he doesn't want to look tiny next to 'The Rock,'" the source added, speaking of Dwayne Johnson.
During the "Baywatch filming, Zac took to Twitter to reveal his strict diet.
"9 days of absolutely zero carbs & sugar. Only organic grass feed/free range protein and organic leafy greens. This leads too…" he wrote, before following up with another tweet showing off an array of dirty dishes from his day off. "#Cheatday! Devoured a steak, 4 side potatoes/veggies, macncheese, 3 desserts bread/butter, brick o cheese & caviar."
… A few of those things aren't available at The Max.
