Duchess Kate is making princess life look affordable!
While visiting the Eden Project in St. Austell, Cornwall, on Friday, the always stylish royal sported a pair of pants that cost less than a lot of steak dinners, rocking Bi-Stretch Skinny Ankle Pants in Ikat Blue from the Gap.
They cost $25 on the clothing chain's website.
Kate's navy blue blazer, on the other hand, is more likely to be found in the closets of those in a higher tax bracket. It retails for $615.
The Duchess has been known to mix styles that include items of high and low price points. It works for her. In fact, last month, Kate was dubbed the best dressed woman of the summer by the Daily Mail.
Granted, the Daily Mail is a United Kingdom-based paper so the poll tends to lean more favorably toward UK-based celebrities.
Kaleidoscope Fashion Designer Kirsten Emery, who commissioned the survey, said, "It's very interesting to see people's perception of classic summer style and how people consider simple, elegant outfits as the most stylish. It's great to see Kate has been selected as the personality with the best summer style. She always looks so polished and elegant, often wearing flattering, feminine shapes in fresh summer prints which are ideal for a hot summer day."
She added that online notoriety means nothing when it comes to style.
"The results also prove that younger popular celebrities from the Instagram generation are not always considered as fashion icons," she said, "or people whose fashion advice we would chose to follow, highlighting that great summer style is ageless."
If history teaches us anything, Kate's Gap pants will be sold out fairly soon. In April, she donned an affordable dress ($140) from Topshop while visiting the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation at Kaziranga National Park in India.
While posing for British Vogue in April (which shockingly was her first time posing for a fashion magazine), the mother of two wore an eye-catching black and red striped long-sleeved top from Petit Bateau that cost $75.
