Amanda Bynes strikes DUI plea deal
Amanda Bynes has reached a plea deal in her DUI case from April 2012, when she was pulled over in West Hollywood, Calif. under suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol after she collided with a parked police car.
The 27-year-old actress pleaded no contest to one count of "wet reckless," a less serious charge than the DUI originally filed against the her. "Wet reckless" refers to a plea to a charge of reckless driving, which is "alcohol related."
In exchange for the plea, which was entered by her attorney on her behalf, she was sentenced to three years probation and a three-month alcohol education class.
Things are seemingly looking up for Bynes these days -- she was released from a Malibu rehabilitation facility on December 5, 2013, after about five months of treatment.
In January, she agreed to see a counselor twice a week for the next six months to get charges of her allegedly throwing a marijuana bong out the window of her apartment in New York City last May dismissed.
