  • As if the world needed any more proof that Betty White is the most buzzed-about octogenarian in America, we give you the following: She is responsible for or connected to more than half of "Saturday Night Live"'s 12 Emmy nominations this year.

In going through the list of nominees for the 62nd annual Primetime Emmys, it's remarkable how many of "SNL's" nods came for the May episode featuring White as the host.

She scored her own nomination for outstanding guest actress in a comedy, and her episode also earned nominations for best directing (Don Roy King) and writing (the 28-person team) for a variety, music or comedy series.

Drilling down further into the list, White's episode also scored nominations for hairstyling and makeup for multicamera shows and lighting direction for variety/comedy/music programming.

Hers was one of three "SNL" episodes (along with those hosted by Jon Hamm and James Franco) to get the show a nomination for best art direction in a variety series."Saturday Night Live's" non-Betty-related nominations include one for Tina Fey, who's competing with White in the guest actress category.

The others are for outstanding variety/music/comedy series, supporting actress in a comedy (Kristen Wiig), technical direction (the Joseph Gordon-Levitt episode) and original music and lyrics ("Shy Ronnie," from the Blake Lively episode).

White is seen as a favorite to win the guest actress Emmy, by award pundits.
