Writer and TV star Mindy Kaling dropped by The White House to attend a state dinner in honor of French president Francois Hollande on Feb. 11, and naturally took to Instagram to document the whole formal affair.
The "Mindy Project" lead, 34, attended the event with her close friend Jocelyn Leavitt wearing a white David Meister gown with silver beading and silver shoes. To add some drama, she swept her hair to the side in a chic ponytail.
The "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" author took several photos getting ready with her pal, and even snapped one with the caption, "Help from my French friend," featuring a bicycle-riding cartoon bear transporting baguettes across her shoulder.
Kaling also showed off the contents of her silver Jimmy Choo clutch, which included a Tide To Go pen ("#whitedresspeopleproblems"), cash, credit cards, and Mac lipstick from the Rihanna Viva Glam collection.
The former "Office" writer and star had no problem hamming it up for the cameras with her friend, posing under the official portrait of former president Bill Clinton and taking selfies with the Washington Monument in the background.
