Beyonce's white Grammy dress was an homage to winter in the Big Apple
"Project Runway" winner Michael Costello had the honor of creating Beyonce's post-performance Grammy look, and despite having to rush to get the dress made (he completed it in just three days), the revealing white floral number was nothing short of a hit.
"... The dress was inspired by New York. The Winter Wonderland in New York," Costello tells E! News. "I've been obsessed with New York, the culture, the lifestyle. I love visiting the city when it's covered in snow. I imagined snow falling onto plants, and trees. It was as if snow was falling onto fabric. When I found the fabric and cut out the leaves and flowers. It all came out together magically. I remember sketching out the dress, and I thought this is exactly how I wanted to do the dress."
The gown is part of a collection Costello calls the Winter Wonderland for New York Fashion Week, which he says also includes a jacket and mermaid-inspired skirt in the same fabric.
