Salma Hayek on Angelina Jolie's mastectomy: I would have waited
During an interview with Univision's "El Gordo y la Flaca" in Miami on Monday, Salma Hayek took a breather from discussing "Grown Ups 2" to contemplate more serious matters. Asked if she would have undergone a double mastectomy like Angelina Jolie did if she discovered she had the faulty gene that could predispose her to cancer, Hayek replied, "To save myself, of course!" But she might have waited longer before making the decision. "I don't know if I would have done the same [as Jolie] so quickly, perhaps I would have had more faith, thought more positively that nothing was going to happen to me," she said. "But you know, I don't know, it's not fair to put yourself in that situation when you haven't been in it. I respect her decision a lot, of course. Plus, she looks great."
