As predicted by the celebrity-policing California Hamster Association, the furry friend Justin Bieber handed off to a fan during a concert did not last too long in her care. Tori McClure shared news of Pac the hamster's demise on Twitter, stirring up a storm of 140-character compassion from Beliebers who apparently found their 19-year-old idol's decision to take a rodent onto an arena stage with him then hand it off to a screaming stranger in the crowd to have been an act of selfless kindness. The hamster association, on the other hand, spoke out against Bieber at the time, blasting him as a callous pet owner.
"They say PAC probably won't make it much longer. He's like an old man. My feelings couldn't be more hurt ):," wrote McClure on Tuesday. "But they also said 'on the bright side he got to live a healthy lavish life of a popstar, not many hamsters coulda been the Biebs' #feelings." Um, yeah. Pac was probably the president of the Hamster Bieber Fan Club at Petco before Justin bought him. Oy.
