Pellicano Wiretapping Suit Against Tom Cruise Dismissed
A judge has ruled that because the statute of limitations has expired, former Bold magazine editor Michael Davis Sapir's lawsuit against Tom Cruise and Bert Fields is being dismissed, according to The Wrap. Sapir claimed that Cruise and his attorney hired Anthony Pellicano to tap his phone while investigating him during a defamation lawsuit filed by Cruise after Sapir allegedly offered a $500,000 reward for video evidence of Cruise's supposed homosexuaiity back in 2001. Cruise sued Sapir for $100 million and later settled the matter. Years later, in 2009, Sapir went after Cruise on the grounds that Pellicano had used illegal means to uncover information about the editor. Sapir may still appeal the dismissal.
