BAFTA Awards 2021 fashion hits and misses

This year, the EE British Academy Film Awards spanned two days — April 10 and 11 — and brought out plenty of stars from film and television alike in multiple cities. Now that the awards have been handed out, it's time for Wonderwall.com to take a better look at the fashion — the good, the bad and the bizarre. The first star in the latter camp? Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who arrived in this puzzling getup by Pertegaz. From a precariously cut long-sleeved, printed blouse to high-waisted white trousers that looked like a skirt from the knees up, there wasn't much to love about this ensemble. Is that a necklace? Part of the blouse? Though it was confusing, it was certainly a unique way for Priyanka Chopra Jonas to wear this multicolored Bulgari necklace. She also added some pretty wraparound rings to the mix, while also sporting an updo and a unique black-tipped manicure.

Phoebe Dynevor wowed in this sleek black Louis Vuitton look. The "Bridgerton" breakout star's one-shouldered frock, which featured a puffed long sleeve and a floor-length skirt, made for a gorgeous and glamorous getup. Now let's get a better look at her jewels…

Though she rocked a black Louis Vuitton dress, Phoebe Dynevor added a tiny pop of color with beautiful drop diamond earrings featuring an emerald stone. She kept her makeup simple and added loose curls to complete her beautiful BAFTAs look. Next up, a look at her stunning ring…

One of the best looks of the night? Rose Byrne's edgy pantsuit by Miu Miu. The star rocked impossibly cool coordinates that included a cropped tuxedo jacket and high-waisted trousers, finishing off her killer BAFTAs ensemble with feminine sandals, a red lip and a sleek ponytail.

It was a very metallic Zuhair Murad moment for Anna Kendrick. The star's shiny bronze confection included thick straps, a plunging neckline, a fitted waist and a full-length pleated skirt with a thigh-high slit. Though we loved the cut, we weren't wild about the shimmery shade. Next up, a better look at her jewels…

Anna Kendrick added some Messika jewelry — including rings and drop earrings — to spice up her metallic Zuhair Murad gown.

Pedro Pascal took a fashion risk at the BAFTAs and it paid off! The actor sported a Prada ensemble that included a long coat with a collared dress shirt underneath — sans tie — and completed his outfit with black pants and dress shoes.

That silhouette! Renee Zellweger wore a show-stopping Armani gown that featured a structured neckline and perfect tailoring that culminating in a midi-length hemline. She added neutral pointy-toe pumps to complete the pretty getup.

Singer Celeste arrived in this odd design by Dilara Findikoglu. The dress started out strong with a unique square neckline but lost us as it flowed into a funky pleated, partially sheer skirt with dramatic black embellishments.

Tom Hiddleston went with the old classic tux and bow tie combination for this year's BAFTAs. The actor sported a white dress shirt and pocket square with his otherwise all-black Ralph Lauren ensemble.

It was a sparkly Louis Vuitton minidress for Cynthia Erivo, who hit the red carpet sporting this high-necked couture design. The long-sleeved frock included an intricately embellished silver, black, pale pink and gold top and a textured golden skirt for a cool metallic combination that she finished off with strappy sandals. We're going to need to get a better look at the details on this one…

Just look at the stunning intricacy of Cynthia Erivo's Louis Vuitton frock. She added even more shimmer via gorgeous diamond hoops and a plethora of stud earrings.

Corinne Bailey Rae's frock featured double spaghetti straps and a shiny purple floral print throughout. Though we already weren't wild about the midi-length cut and ruffled hemline, those funky boots cemented this look as a miss.

Gorgeous! Another star who wowed in Louis Vuitton? Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who wore a shimmering gown that gave the illusion of being strapless but really had a sheer sleeveless silhouette. The midi-length design was the perfect cut to show off her matching strappy sandals, and she wisely added a berry-hued lip to complete her glamorous ensemble. Next up? A better look at her earrings…

When it came time for Gugu Mbatha-Raw to add accessories, the star piled on jewels from Messika! We loved the combination of studs and ear cuffs that she rocked to add some extra sparkle to her look.

We weren't big fans of Sophie Cookson's matronly Giorgio Armani gown. The long-sleeved, floor-length velvet dress featured embellishments on the shoulders that included a strange blue beaded fringe.

Gorgeous in green! Andra Day rocked this vibrant green Elie Saab gown that included a gold chain halter neckline bordering the bodice that paired perfectly with her oversized gold hoops. Let's get a better view of these details…

Up close, you can see the intricate gold chain detail of Andra Day's Elie Saab design as well as the way she added more gold via her hoop earrings and bracelets. The star also included another pop of bright color with pretty pink nails.

David Oyelowo selected a navy blue suit for the BAFTA Awards festivities, opting to wear a tux with black lapels that were complemented by his skinny tie and dress shoes, delivering a sleek overall look.

James McAvoy played it safe and kept it simple, rocking a suit-and-tie combination in classic black and adding shiny dress shoes to the mix.
