Kim Kardashian weighs in on Kanye West's relationship with Chaney Jones
Kim Kardashian says she and her ex, Kanye West, will always be "family," and she just wants him to be "happy," whether that means he finds a future with his new girlfriend Chaney Jones or not. The SKIMS creator opened up about where things stand with Kanye after his public rants about their split (and his verbal attacks on her boyfriend, Pete Davidson), on the April 12 edition of Amanda Hirsch's "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast. "We went about eight months without even speaking to each other at the beginning of the divorce," she said, recalling the events after she filed to end their marriage in February 2021. "He would still see the kids and stuff, just him and I took a minute of not talking. And I think it all, in relationships, it'll be like that. I only hope for, I hope we are the 'co-parenting goals' at the end of the day." Later in the show, she spoke candidly about feeling a "little zing" when she first kissed Pete as part of a "Saturday Night Live" skit in October, and said the two started seeing each other privately before they were photographed holding hands over Halloween weekend last year. After telling the host she and Kanye still "have so much love for each other," she brushed off the rapper's rants about her parenting and Pete. "Like, I don't judge. … we're always going to be cool, and family even if it doesn't look that way," she said. "I have so much love and respect for him and who he's been in my life and what he's brought to me and our amazing kids that, you know, he's given me, and he's changed my life." Asked about Kanye's new love interest (who happens to look an awful lot like Kim), the Hulu star said, "I just want him to be happy and, like, she seems like the sweetest. Like, I'm just, whatever makes you happy. I don't care what it is."

"I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole. It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could've ever imagined," Jen said. "Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love." Praising his choice of a green diamond for the engagement ring, Jen added, "Green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be."

"When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, There's no way I'm going to go shopping in no maternity aisle. I'm sorry — it's too much fun to get dressed up. I'm not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing," she says. In fact, she says she's taking on more than ever now, "because I know it will be different on the other side of this." What seems unlikely to change anytime soon, however, is her relationship with Rocky, who was a longtime friend and occasional music collaborator before the two became an item. Asked if they planned the pregnancy, she replied, "I wouldn't say planning, but certainly not planning against it." The two were happy together going into the coronavirus pandemic, but Rihanna tells Vogue it was their cross-country road trip that sealed the deal. "I love the simple things but also the grand adventures. There's no pretentious my-brand-your-brand b*******, it's just us living," she says. "I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side." As for her pregnancy fashion flair, the designer says she hopes her bold approach helps "redefine what's considered 'decent' for pregnant women." She adds, "My body is doing incredible things right now, and I'm not going to be ashamed of that. This time should feel celebratory. Because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?"
Jamie Lynn Spears, Kevin Federline support Britney after confusing pregnancy post
Amid confusion around Britney Spears' apparent pregnancy announcement on April 11, the singer's sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, and ex, Kevin Federline, both expressed support for the star. On Instagram, Britney shared a long post saying she'd gained weight but her fiance, Sam Asghari dismissed it as a food baby. "So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby," Britney wrote, adding, "4 days later I got a little more food pregnant. It's growing!" The confusing post later referenced the perinatal depression Brit says she suffered from "when I was pregnant," presumably with the now teenage sons she shares with Kevin. A post from Sam about fatherhood seemed to be a response, but he never confirmed the possible pregnancy, either. Still, the singer's sister, Jamie Lynn, clicked "like" on the post, E! News reported on April 12. Given the sisters' strained relationship, though, it's not clear what, if anything, the like represents. Kevin, meanwhile, was apparently not told a half-sibling was on the way for the kids he and Britney share. "Kevin has become aware of the statement Britney published on her Instagram account and wishes her a happy and healthy pregnancy," a rep for Kevin told ET in a statement. "He wants to extend his congratulations to Britney and Sam Asghari as they navigate through the excitement of preparing to become co-parents. Obviously parenting is one of the greatest privileges and challenges that one can have and he is sure that Britney will be able to rise to the occasion."
Gilbert Gottfried dies at 67 'after a long illness'
The comedy world is mourning the loss of Gilbert Gottfried following news of his death "after a long illness" on April 12. He was 67. As tributes flooded social media, the stand-up star was honored as "just indescribably unusually hilarious" by Jon Stewart, "sweet and delightfully funny" by Conan O'Brien and "a genius comic, artist and provocateur," by Tom Green. The New York Times celebrated the "manic, loudmouthed and highly original stand-up comedy routines" that sparked his success over the course of four decades in comedy; he also famously voiced the parrot in "Aladdin" and contributed to the ensemble comics cast of the 2005 joke documentary, "The Artistocrats." In a statement on Twitter, Gilbert's family wrote, "… In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children." They added, "Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert's honor."
Kurt Cobain's 'Smells like Teen Spirit' guitar hits the auction block
The guitar Kurt Cobain played in Nirvana's now iconic music video for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is headed to the auction block in the wake of the 28th anniversary of the '90s rock legend's death. It's expected to sell for up to $800,000, although Martin Nolan, the executive director of Julien's Auctions, tells NBC News "that's a very conservative auction estimate." Kurt played the blue 1969 Mustang fender in the 1993 video for what became one of the band's biggest hits, garnering nearly 1.5 billion views on YouTube. According to the auction house, the instrument was among Kurt's favorites and has remained with family members since he ended his life in 1994. The guitar comes with its original case as well as Kurt's guitar strap, Martin said. Other items of Kurt's on the auction lot include a 1965 Dodge Dart that's expected to bring in up to $600,000 and one of Kurt's original pieces of artwork celebrating Michael Jackson, which is expected to sell for up to $40,000. Kurt was reportedly a huge fan of the King of Pop. A portion of proceeds from Kurt's items will be donated to a mental health charity, according to NBC.
New details on why JoJo Siwa wasn't invited to the Kids Choice Awards
A Kids' Choice Awards production source tells Variety it was simply a "mistake" that left JoJo Siwa without an invitation to the April 9 show. Though she was nominated for favorite social music star — an award she won a few years back — the "Dance Moms" alum told fans on Instagram over the weekend that she wasn't invited to the 2022 Kids' Choice Awards. "I'm not sure why, but I just didn't get an invite," JoJo, 18, shared in response to questions about why she didn't attend. "I don't want anyone to think it was my choice not to go …. I simply didn't get an invite," she reiterated. As angry fans pointed out on social media, JoJo came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021 and ditched her trademark long blonde hair for a more gender-neutral pixie cut just days before the KCAs. ("Jojo siwa not getting invited to the nickelodeon kids choice awards — after being the face of that network for years — right after coming out and cutting her hair makes my homophobia siren ring," one person tweeted.) But Variety's source says the singer and dancer should have been invited. "This had nothing to do with her as a person. That is so off the mark and very upsetting. It was truly an unfortunate mistake and she definitely should have been there," the person said. They also cited the "much reduced audience size due to COVID protocols" as a likely reason for the error and told Variety Nickelodeon execs would soon contact JoJo "to try to make things right." JoJo also noted on her Instagram Stories that the KCA broadcast used her music, posting, "My song made the cut, but not me."
Whoopi Goldberg is taking a break from 'The View'
On April 12's "The View," Joy Behar announced Whoopi Goldberg is on a temporary hiatus from the show. "If you're wondering where Whoopi is, the girl's got a movie she's making! And she will be back whenever she finishes whatever she's doing, so she's gone for a while," Joy said at the top of the broadcast. According to according to Entertainment Weekly, Whoopi's not technically filming a movie, but the limited, six-episode series, "Anansi Boys." The Amazon Prime project is an adaptation of author Neil Gaiman's book of the same name. "I have been a fan of this book for a very long time and when Neil Gaiman told me it was being brought to the screen, I did everything I could to be part of it to help make people aware of Anansi and all his magic," Whoopi said in a statement following her casting. In the show, she's slated to play Bird Woman, a god who wants to exact revenge on Anansi, played by Delroy Lindo. While conservative political commentator Alyssa Farah Griffin guest hosted the show in Whoopi's absence the day of the announcement, it's unclear if a regular guest host will fill in going forward.
