Charlie Sheen responds to Trump tweet backlash
After tweeting a request that God get rid of "Trump next, please" following the slew of celebrity deaths that seemed to define this year, Charlie Sheen was met with a wave of criticism — and a lot of likes and retweets — about his admittedly morbid comment. He apparently noticed the reactions, but refused to apologize or rescind what he'd said. "The media's reaction to last night's tweet, is inanely emblematic of the panoramic timorousness, draped vastly and wantonly, across any and all expressions of hope of joy, that we now date to publish or impart," he posted in response to the feedback, good and bad. "Oh, and by the way," Charlie added, "I was talking to God, not you."

Chris Martin covers George Michael at homeless shelter
George Michael was a longtime — and humble — supporter of various social work charities. That made Chris Martin's decision to cover one of George's songs at a homeless shelter this week even more poignant. On Wednesday, Dec. 28, Chris and his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis, stopped by London's Crisis Centre for a Christmas event, according to Us Weekly. Chris performed a low-key version of "Last Christmas" at the event and helped with coffee and tea-making duties in much the same way the late singer spent time volunteering at shelters and other places providing services to those in need. "A huge thank you to Coldplay's Chris Martin for dropping by our Crisis at Christmas centers and entertaining our guests," read a Facebook post on the venue's page. A volunteer shared a photo from the day's event, captioning it, "That moment when Coldplay's Chris Martin drops into the Crisis at Christmas shelter, with no fuss, no fanfare and no press, to help make tea and coffee and also play guitar so guests can have a sing song. Thank you for coming down and getting stuck in."
Zsa Zsa Gabor's funeral streamed live
Earlier this week, the New York Post reported Zsa Zsa Gabor's widower, Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, was trying to profit from his late wife's funeral, having sent out a tip sheet of celebrities expected to attend the event, negotiating to sell access to photos of the service and generally trying to bring as much media attention as possible to what was being called a "celebration of [her] life." That might explain why, as the service got underway on Friday, Dec. 30, it was being streamed live on TMZ. Shortly after Zsa Zsa's death, Frederic invited television crews inside her home for what the Daily Mail described as "a tour of her deathbed." "This is his last hurrah, his last party to get the most money as possible," her former publicist told the Post. "She was his golden goose."
DMX files for bankruptcy
The third time's not always the charm. After filing for bankruptcy in 2009 and 2013, DMX has reportedly gone hat trick on his financial problems, filing for Chapter 13. TheDirty.com (via the Daily Mail) reports the rapper owes more than $2 million for debts to Compass Bank, child support, back and current, and family support. In the filing, he cites his house — an estimated $350,000 value — as his sole asset. As the Mail suggests, the fact that he has 15 children with nine different women probably hasn't made it any easier to stay financially solvent.
Ariana Grande slams fan who objectified her
Ew. While out with her boyfriend, Mac Miller recently, Ariana Grande dealt with some serious objectification courtesy of one of her guy's fans. After telling Mac he liked his music, he said, "Ariana is sexy as hell man I see you, I see you hitting that," according to Ariana's account of what went down (via Celebitchy). She tweeted that the experience made her feel "sick and objectified" and added that such comments contribute to women's "sense of fear and inadequacy." The responses to her story, she later tweeted, were less than considerate. "Seeing a lot of "but look how you portray yourself in videos and in your music! you're so sexual!" …. please hold.. next tweet… i repeat," she posted. She then defended herself and her feminism ideals in the best way possible. "Expressing sexuality in art is not an invitation for disrespect !!! just like wearing a short skirt is not asking for assault," she tweeted (via Celebitchy). "Women's choice. ♡ our bodies, our clothing, our music, our personalities….. sexy, flirty, fun. … it is not. an open. Invitation," she added. "You are literally saying that if we look a certain way, we are yours to take. But we are not !!! It's our right to express ourselves. ♡." Tell 'em, girl!
Lindsay Lohan identifies with refugees after her boating accident
"Losing half of my finger and getting it back was one of the best things that happened to me." So said Lindsay Lohan in a Facebook livestream broadcast recently CNN (via the New York Post). She went on to connect the experience of having her finger cut by a boat anchor in Turkey earlier this year with her ability to understand what refugees there are going through. "If that didn't happen to me, if I didn't lose a part of myself essentially — and I weirdly think about this when I meditate — I wouldn't have stayed in Turkey," she said. "I wouldn't have stayed there, and I wouldn't have understood what it feels like to lose a limb." Eh, limb, part of a finger that was reattached by a plastic surgeon, tomato, tomahto …
Khloe Kardashian reflects on her evolution in New Year's post
While many of us spend the week before New Year's thinking about what we'll resolve to do differently in the year ahead, Khloe Kardashian adopted a different perspective in a new blog post on her app and shouted out the positive changes the past 12 months have brought to her life. "The new year is a good time to reflect on the baby steps I've taken, and how I've evolved," she wrote in her "New Year, New Me" post (via Us Weekly). "Not everything is a f—— race — it's the marathon of life! I think it's so important to acknowledge the evolution. It took me a long time to get here. I feel like I've grown so much this year, with what I can handle and how I react to situations." As for the resolution shuffle? "I like to make goals in life," she mused, "but I make sure that the goals aren't too crazy because if you ever fall off the horse, you will beat yourself up. It's good to set small goals, and I never set a crazy time limit for myself."
