Real-life 'Brother From Another Mother?'
On their upcoming Apple TV+ series, "Brother From Another Mother," longtime pals Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey play fictionalized versions of themselves in an "odd couple love story revolving around the strange and beautiful bond" between them. But as Matthew revealed this week on Kelly Ripa's podcast this week, the "brother" part might not be fiction, after all. It seems Matthew's mother recently made a cryptic comment about having known Woody's dad way back when — and the Texas-born actors think she may have been referring to an intimate relationship.
"You know, where I start and where he ends, and where he starts and I end, has always been like a murky line," Matthew said on the April 11 edition of "Let's Talk Off Camera" (via Variety). "And that's part of our bromance, right? My kids call him Uncle Woody. His kids call me Uncle Matthew. And you see pictures of us and my family thinks a lot of pictures of him are me. His family thinks a lot of pictures of me are him." Matthew continued: "In Greece a few years ago, we're sitting around talking about how close we are and our families. And my mom is there, and she says, 'Woody, I knew your dad.' Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after 'knew.' It was a loaded K-N-E-W. We went on to unpack what this 'knew' meant and did some math and found out that [Woody's] dad was on furlough at the same time that my mom and dad were in their second divorce. Then there's possible receipts and places out in West Texas where there might have been a gathering, or a meeting, or a 'knew' moment." Matthew, 53, and Woody, 61, haven't decided if they'll take a DNA test, Matthew said, mostly because the man he knows as his father is still living. Woody's dad, Charles Harrelson, died in 2007 in prison, where he was serving time for murder.

Jamie Foxx hospitalized with undisclosed 'medical complication'
Jamie Foxx "is doing a lot better" and "joking with family" after he was hospitalized in Atlanta on Tuesday (April 11) with what his family is calling an undisclosed "medical complication," a source told TMZ on Thursday. While the details of Jamie's hospitalization remain private, his daughter, Corinne Fox, shared an update on her dad's health on Instagram on Wednesday night and said he was "on his way to recovery." TMZ's sources said Thursday that doctors had yet to determine the nature of the Oscar winner's apparent medical emergency and that he's expected to remain in the hospital for a few more days while he undergoes more tests. Jamie, 55, was not on the set of "Back In Action," his upcoming action flick with Cameron Diaz, when he was rushed to the hospital, according to CNN.

Eva Mendes explains why she won't join Ryan Gosling on 'Barbie' red carpets
More than a decade after Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes played lovers in "The Place Beyond the Pines," the stars are very much a couple in real-life, though you wouldn't know it from the notoriously private stars' public appearances. In comments on a recent Instagram post about the film, Eva explained to fans why she won't be joining her partner when he promotes his new movie, "Barbie" — or anything else, for that matter. "Magic is Real," she captioned a video of footage of the two from the 2012 film. "We did not meet on set. The magic started way before but here's a little magic captured on camera," she wrote, in part. When a fan commented that they hope "Barbie" gets some awards season love "just to see you w Ryan" on a red carpet, Eva chimed in with an explanation. "What a cool comment, thank you," she wrote. "But we don't do those things together. Like these photos I've been posting, Im [sic] only comfortable posting because it's already out there.♥️" She added that she and Ryan were "on the red carpet together once when promoting this film," but that was it. Asked why the two aren't "comfortable" with joint appearances, Eva replied: "By 'not comfortable,' I mean exposing our very private life that we value. I'm still dying to do another movie with him though…"

Former Nickelodeon star 'safe' after being reported missing
Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has been found after he was reported "missing and endangered" by the Daytona Beach Police Department in Florida on Thursday (April 13). According to a police department Facebook post, "officers [were] looking for" the "Drake & Josh" star, "whose last known location" may have been near a local high school on Wednesday evening. The post included a description of the car Drake (whose full name is Jared Drake Bell) was traveling in, "a 2022 gray BMW," and a request for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Detective Jayson Wallace. Police updated the post around 1:30 p.m. ET to "confirm law enforcement officials are in contact and Mr. Bell is safe." TMZ reports Drake was "with his son on Tuesday" at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, though it's unclear where he was located after that.
The missing report comes after Drake's arrest in June 2021 for attempted child endangerment and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years of probation and 200 hours of community service, according to People.
KISS rocker Gene Simmons shares health update after stopping Brazil concert
KISS rocker Gene Simmons says he's "fine" after he was forced to stop a performance in Manaus, Brazil, on Wednesday (April 12), when he suddenly became ill. As Brazilian journalist Igor Miranda reported, Gene's bandmate Paul Stanley interrupted the concert about halfway through, telling the crowd, "Hold on, hold on, we're gonna have to stop." As Gene took a breather before returning to perform while seated in a chair on the stage, Paul urged the audience to support him with cheers. "We know how much you love Gene, and he's obviously sick. We're gonna have to stop to take care of him, because we love him, right?" Paul asked. "Let's give Gene a really loud, 'Gene!' One, two, three — Gene!"
Though he played bass and sang for the rest of the show while seated (and in full costume), he tweeted a health update on Thursday. "Hey everybody, thanks for the good wishes. I'm fine," he posted. "Yesterday at Manaus Stadium in Brazil, experienced weakness because of dehydration. We stopped for about five minutes, I drank some water, and then all was well. Nothing serious. Tomorrow, Bogota Stadium. See you there!" KISS is currently on their End of the Road tour. Their final shows before they retire from touring are slated for New York City's Madison Square Garden in December.
Ryan Seacrest hosts farewell dinner for 'Live' staff before final show
Ahead of his final installment of "Live! With Kelly and Ryan" on Friday (April 14), Ryan Seacrest hosted a farewell dinner for the show's staff, where he thanked everyone from the camera operators and other crew members to executive producer Michael Gelman to his longtime co-host, Kelly Ripa. "Welcome to this evening, it's so nice to see our 'Live' family and our 'Live' family's family," Ryan can be heard saying in a welcome speech at the dinner shared by the show's official Instagram account. "There really is no other place in our business like the Live show. I'm grateful to have been a part for six years. I wanted to get together and enjoy something that I like a lot, which is great food," he quipped.
After expressing his gratitude to colleagues — and joking that he'll miss "the red herrings" and "sharing the bathroom, well, with everyone," he shouted-out his replacement, Kelly's husband and Ryan's longtime friend, Mark Consuelos. "My brother, Mark. Congratulations," Ryan said. "It's wonderful to go through this process with somebody that I love so much that obviously, I know, knows her better than I know her… ish," he joked. "But congratulations. I can't wait to watch… or tape it, sleep in and watch. Probably that, but congratulations, Mark." Mark's tenure alongside Kelly kicks off Monday (April 17).
Mo'Nique sues CBS, Paramount over royalties for 'The Parkers'
Mo'Nique has filed suit against CBS Studios, Paramount Pictures and production company Big Ticket Productions, alleging she's owed unpaid royalties for her "Moesha" spinoff, "The Parkers," People reported on Thursday (April 13). In her lawsuit, the actress and comic says the sitcom, which aired from 1999 until 2004, should have been significantly more profitable for its "talent," given facts like its 110-episode run, which puts the series "above the lucrative 100-episode threshold traditionally necessary for a television show to be syndicated." She goes on to claim the media companies "inequitably structured the Series' finances to artificially depress its profitability and retain millions that would otherwise be contractually due" to her and her husband's production company, Hicks Media. The breach of contract suit adds that Mo'Nique became aware of the allegedly unfair revenue structuring when the show's writers and creators filed a similar complaint following "a forensic audit of the series' books and records." She's reportedly seeking monetary damages (to be determined by a jury) and reimbursement for her legal fees.
