Royal biographer Angela Levin claims Meghan Markle registered a copyright for Princess Lilibet's name — which honors her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II — before the Suits star gave birth in 2021.

According to Angela Levin, Queen Elizabeth II was "furious" with Meghan Markle over Princess Lilibet's name. "I think one of the reasons she felt that way was because it was discovered that Meghan, even before Lilibet was born, had taken out the names officially so that she could use them to buy things and to identify them," Levin
said.

Robert Hardman has also alleged that Queen Elizabeth II was unhappy with Meghan Markle and
Prince Harry's decision to name their daughter after her. "One aide privately recalled that Elizabeth had been 'as angry as I'd ever seen her' in 2021 after the Sussexes announced that she had given them her blessing to call their baby daughter 'Lilibet', the Queen's childhood nickname," he said.

Queen Elizabeth II met Princess Lilibet once before she died in 2022.
Prince Harry recalled in his memoir
Spare, "
[Prince] Archie was making deep, chivalrous bows, his baby sister Lilibet cuddling the monarch's shins. [The queen had] expected them to be a bit more American, I think? Meaning, in her mind, more rambunctious."
