NEW YORK (AP) -- Eugene O'Neill is joining Anton Chekhov, Arthur Miller and Samuel Beckett as one of the big-name playwrights on Broadway this season.

Producer Jeffrey Richards says the critically acclaimed Goodman Theatre revival of "Desire Under the Elms" will open April 27 at the St. James Theatre. Preview performances begin April 14 for a 13-week run.

The Chicago production stars Brian Dennehy as patriarch Ephraim Cabot, Carla Gugino as his young wife and Pablo Schreiber as one of his sons. It will be directed by Robert Falls, artistic head of the Goodman Theatre.
