NEW YORK (AP) -- Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin (GAHS'-lihn) says she feels a sense of peace after making the decision to separate from her husband, Jon.

She says the stress of a marital breakup puts things in perspective and makes the kitchen remodeling project under way at their Pennsylvania home seem like no big deal.

Two new episodes of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" airing Monday marked the end of a hiatus that began last June, when the Gosselins revealed to viewers their decision to split. The TLC network said then the couple needed time to regroup.

The parents of 5-year-old sextuplets and 8-year-old twins are co-stars of the network's biggest hit. They've also been a magnet for the tabloid press since their marriage began to crumble.
