Canadian audiences don't seem to appreciate Billy Bob Thornton's recent comment that they're "mashed potatoes with no gravy."

At a Thursday night performance with his band, the Boxmasters, Billy Bob was booed by the Canadian audience, many of whom had apparently tuned in for his now-infamous CBC radio interview.

"Boo all you want," Thornton told the disapproving crowd, "but I want to say something. We're really happy to be here, but I need to say something. I talked to this a--hole yesterday."

He was referring, of course, to the painfully polite radio announcer who made the grave error of referring to Billy Bob's previous acting experience. You see, Billy Bob explained to the crowd, he wasn't dissing all Canadians, just one Canadian specifically - that jerk who called him an Oscar-winner!

However justified Billy Bob feels in his response, this should serve as a warning for his future interviews: don't mess with our friends in the Great White North. They're full of gravy, to the last man.
