Expecting her first child -- a baby girl! -- any day now, Lisa Ling is putting the finishing touches on a super-chic, eco-friendly nursery for her bundle of joy to come home to. "We're doing a partial green nursery and trying as hard as we can to do as much organic stuff for our nursery as we can," Ling, the host of OWN's Our America, told Us Weekly in January when she entered her eighth month of pregnancy.
Striving to stay green for the sake of her daughter, the former View cohost admits she's torn over one final detail: Diapers! "I don't know that I'm going to entirely do cloth diapers," the mom-to-be, 39, explained. "I'd like to be be ambitious about it, but in all honesty I can't say that I will."
Confirming her pregnancy on pal Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show Anderson Live in October, Ling shared an early sonogram of her and husband Paul Song's baby-to-be. "I was trying to keep [my pregnancy] quiet for a long time, but I'm starting to get to the point where it looks like I have this really big beer belly. I figured I'd better share it publicly," she told Cooper at the time.
Married to physician and biotech firm president Song since 2007, Ling explains that her man has completely catered to her every pregnancy need. The best part for Ling? She and baby are very well fed. "He's a great cook," says Ling of Song. "I don't cook anything. So he's been extra-generous about cooking, but really healthy foods. I crave a lot of salt."
Baby girl Song will be the first child for the couple, who suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2010. Following their heartbreak, the TV personality spoke to More magazine about their desire to have a child at all costs, and talked openly about their willingness to adopt. Said Ling: "We both have so many great experiences we would love to share with either a biological or an adopted child."
