The biggest stars in country music got all dressed up for the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on April 15, and some stars looked a lot more stylish than others! Now that the awards have been handed out, it's time to judge the fashion — starting with the host of the evening, Reba McEntire! It was only fitting that one of the queens of country showed up dressed like royalty! Reba arrived in this beautiful white gown, which featured sparkling silver detailing and cascading white fringe. We were equally mesmerized by those earrings. Keep reading to see more of the best and worst dressed country crooners, and get a better look at Reba's jewels!
Reba McEntire adorned her earlobes with these super-sparkly diamond drop earrings. Aside from being a dazzling accessory, they complemented her shimmery eyeshadow and shiny pink lip flawlessly!
We typically love Maren Morris's style, but this dress left us unenthused. The strapless, slinky frock by Christian Siriano featured an asymmetrical hemline and an iridescent fabric that gave us mermaid vibes in the worst way possible.
Miranda Lambert went red-hot at the ACM Awards. The country darling rocked this shimmering statement gown by Georges Chakra, which featured ruby red sparkly stripes along the bodice and a flowing skirt. This selection certainly landed her among the hits of the night!
Nicole Kidman rarely makes a misstep in the fashion department, but this Michael Kors Collection gown lands among the misses at the Academy of Country Music Awards. The slinky gold fabric underwhelmed, and the oversized, gathered sleeves made the dress look more costume than couture. See the back next…
The back of Nicole Kidman's gold Michael Kors Collection gown wasn't much better. It featured an extra-large keyhole cutout that scooped all the way down her back and solidified this look as a miss in our book.
One of our favorite looks of the night belonged to Danielle Bradbery! The former "The Voice" contestant rocked slicked, straight hair and donned this beautiful, strapless champagne gown for country music's big night. We loved the color and structured bodice and the way the gown's skirt split and ended in beautiful, ethereal tulle.
Yikes! Gwen Stefani's ACM Awards getup left us speechless… in a bad way. The dark red dress featured a deep cut-out at the neckline and an asymmetrical hemline with a sharp point on the minidress's right side. She wore the strange frock with fishnets and suede thigh-high boots, making sure this look landed among the misses.
A wonder in white! Kelsea Ballerini donned this dress fit for a princess at the annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The design featured a fitted bodice with sheer paneling and a wispy, pleated skirt, resulting in a gown that's great for twirling!
There's a way to make the cowboy look cool, but we're afraid Justin Moore missed the mark with this messy ensemble. The dress shirt seemed award-show ready, but he topped that with a brown leather jacket and then paired that with rockstar-worthy ripped jeans. The crocodile cowboy boots and white cowboy hat evoked the western theme, but paired with all the other styles just ended up confusing us.
We loved Lauren Alaina's ACM Awards look! The country cutie donned this fun design, which featured a sheer, floral-print overlay atop an otherwise tiny black minidress. The gold belt at the waist really cinched the look together. Next up, a better view of her hair and makeup!
Rivaling her adorable dress? That pretty high ponytail, stellar makeup and those dark drop earrings that complemented her dress perfectly.
Another cowboy look gone bad? Clay Walker's ensemble comprised of a black cowboy hat, textured brown suit jacket, bright blue dress shirt, patterned black tie, dark blue jeans held up by a massive belt buckle and finished off with a pair of brown cowboy boots. Yikes!
We loved Cole Swindell's look… from the neck down. The printed dress shirt and gray suit paired well and the boots looked sharp, but he lost us by adding a mismatched black baseball hat.
Hitting the carpet and giving us major "Beauty and the Beast"-meets-Big Bird vibes? Miss Lindsey Vonn. The Olympian, who somehow scored an invite list to the country music award show, arrived in this massive canary-yellow gown, which started with a turtleneck, went into a long-sleeved bodice and ended in mounds of tulle. Even more perplexing than her decision to wear this over-the-top couture? Her shoe selection! Catch that next!
Why, Lindsey Vonn? Why? The athlete opted to rock white sneakers underneath her yellow tulle confection, puzzling pretty much everyone.
Remember how we mentioned that the cowboy look can translate to the red carpet and look cool? Well, Jason Aldean is a prime example! The country crooner rocked his black cowboy hat with a black suit, white dress shirt and black tie, somehow making his beat-up cowboy boots appear even cooler by contrast. Well-done, Jason!
Though we're big fans of Lady Antebellum, we weren't feeling Hillary Scott's ensemble at the Academy of Country Music Awards. The busy red-and-white getup featured too many prints and frills for our liking, but her hair and makeup were definitely on-point!
Though her dress was a miss, Hillary Scott's beauty look was a hit. We loved her shimmering eyeshadow and bright red lip, but even better than her perfect makeup? Those voluminous waves! So stunning!
Those are some sparkly shoes! Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean showed up at the ACM Awards in these shimmering dress shoes, bringing some Vegas flair to the country music scene. We liked the fun addition to an equally stand-out deep purple suit so much, we needed a closer look!
AJ McLean sported some very sparkly kicks! The lace-ups featured metallic sequins and kicked his outfit up a notch!
That's a whole lot of pink! Eve attended the ACM Awards in this fancy pale-pink frock complete with a thigh-high slit and an odd frilly layer of darker pink across the top. We've got to say, this was not one of our favorites of the night. Is this miss making anyone else thinking about Pepto-Bismol?
Brett Young cleans up nicely! The singer went with navy blue for the big night, rocking a suit jacket with black lapels and pairing it with a white dress shirt. The black loafers kept the look cool and fresh, propelling Brett to the best dressed list.
Does Kip Moore know he's at an award show? The singer went with a look so casual, we were confused. From the shades and the baseball cap to the unbuttoned shirt and jeans, this look loses on all fronts.
Yet another purple suit! Jake Owen selected a more vibrant, berry shade for his suit, and we appreciated the nicely tailored look, which was complemented by a dress shirt, skinny black tie and dress shoes. Looking sharp, Jake!
Dustin Lynch sported this shiny pale-pink jacket over an otherwise all-black look at the ACM Awards. And though we appreciated the pop of color, we weren't fans of the funky outerwear. Sorry, Dustin — this one's a miss!
We love a good pantsuit moment, and Cassadee Pope delivered at the ACM Awards! The "The Voice" beauty rocked a black velvet suit jacket sans shirt with matching trousers. Equally stylish? Those fun, funky pumps! Now let's see them up close…
We adored Cassadee Pope's velvet pantsuit and her heel selection was equally stellar! The black pumps featured round studs and a strap behind the pointed toe.
Jennifer Nettles looked radiant in this rosy-hued, long-sleeved gown. We liked the unconventional color and the textured print along with the high neck. Her slicked-back hair provided the perfect complement to the sleek, sophisticated ensemble.
Aaron Watson's duds were definitely disappointing. The musician looked ready for the ACM Awards from the waist up in his suit jacket, tie and dress shirt, but from the waist down, it was classic cowboy. His baggy jeans, massive belt buckle and square-toed boots ruined the start of a good ACM look.
We went gaga for all this glimmering goodness! RaeLynn kept the sparkly trend going in this neutral, ethereal gown. The dress featured a sheer overlay adorned with intricate detailing, making for a beautiful blue carpet moment.
Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins are one of our favorite couples in country music, and they didn't disappoint on the ACM Awards blue carpet. Thomas sported a very sleek suit, complete with skinny pants and loafers. Lauren donned a stunning, slinky silver number, and we loved the gown's halter neckline and dramatic train. These two are too cute!
Country singer Cam looked pretty as a picture in a pale, pleated seafoam-green dress with a plunging neckline and voluminous sleeves. Those strappy silver sandals were the perfect touch.
Scotty McCreery showed up to the big event in this metallic herringbone-print suit jacket. We liked the departure from the typical solid-color suits we usually see on the red carpet, and the way Scotty kept things award-show appropriate with a dress shirt, tie and dress shoes.
Another colored suit! Walker Hayes opted for a dark maroon suit, but his accessories left a lot to be desired. The singer picked a black T-shirt to go underneath and added stark white sneakers, resulting in two fashion strikes.
Looking sharp, Hootie! Darius Rucker arrived in style at the Academy of Country Music Awards sporting a three-piece suit, a pink tie and pocket square and brown boots. Now if only he'd left those tiny sunglasses at home!
Yet another colored suit! Dierks Bentley looked debonair in crimson on the blue carpet in a sleek, tailored suit with a white dress shirt and brown Chelsea boots.
Becky Lynch looked like she was dressed for Sunday brunch instead of a Sunday award show. The WWE star opted for this casual combo of a crop top and wide-legged pants in a striped pattern, leaving us wondering if she just happened to stumble upon this blue carpet.
We love a man in velvet! Kane Brown donned a dark-red velvet suit jacket with black lapels. He kept the rest of his look classic and crisp with a white dress shirt, black tie, black dress pants and dress shoes.
There is such a thing as too many cut-outs! Lindsay Ell arrived at the 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in this white-and-silver number that featured asymmetrical cut-outs and designs seemingly without rhyme or reason. Though we weren't fans of the dress, we did like Lindsay's super-high ponytail.
Musician Julia Michaels selected a muted hue similar to Cam's. We loved the design's full tulle skirt and the lace overlay on the bodice and sleeves. Her peep-toe pumps completed this lovely look.
That's a mighty deep V! Chris Lane arrived at the ACM Awards in this printed shirt and emerald green pants. Though we appreciated the pop of color on the carpet, it would have looked better with a few more buttons secured.
A two-piece look on the red carpet isn't always easy to pull off, but Hillary Lindsey did it! The singer-songwriter's black cropped off-the-shoulder top worked well with matching frilled pants that almost looked like a skirt from far away.
