Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich tells "Good Morning America" he considered Oprah Winfrey to fill President Barack Obama's empty United States Senate seat. Blagojevich says that Oprah "was obviously someone with a much broader bully pulpit than other senators."

The governor refrained from appointing the talk show host saying he feared it might seem gimmicky and Oprah would not accept the job.
