Rihanna is going long for 2013.
After rocking a close-cropped pixie cut -- and then curly bombshell locks -- for several months, the "Diamonds" singer, 24, emerged with a brand-new hair look in Los Angeles on Sunday Jan. 7 -- sporting straight, long, light-brown hair.
The ever-evolving, chart-topping singer hasn't yet commented via Twitter about her latest look, but offered some inspiration to her nearly 28 million followers with an Instagram pic.
"Don't forget who you are," said the superstar, spotted at a Christmas Day basketball game with on-again beau Chris Brown. In the pic, a young woman -- her eyes concealed by messy, side-swept hair -- dons a crown. "I'm not a princess, I don't need saving," text across the shot reads. "I'm a queen, I got this s*** handled."
In the past, Rihanna has rocked a huge array of styles, from a jet-black bob to an bright-orange afro. Rihanna went short in September with the help of longtime hairstylist Ursula Stephen. "She was ready for her short hair again!" Stephen told Us.
