No doubt about it: the ladies of Dancing With the Stars are dominating the show's All-Star season.
Following Monday night's double performances (contestants danced mashed-up routines and performed to Michael Jackson classics), it was tough to tell who would gain an edge thanks to voter votes.
Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy and Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke were tied for last place, with 54 points each. Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough, meanwhile, took the lead with a near-perfect 59/60. (Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani scored 57.5 points, while Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff earned 57.)
During the dramatic elimination round, speed-skater Apolo Ohno and former NFL star Emmitt Smith were told they hadn't made the cut, and would be ending their DWTS runs.
Both men were gracious as they got ready to leave the ballroom for the last time. Ohno praised his DWTS "family," while Smith described his time on the show as a "tremendous experience."
Next week, Johnson, Monaco and Rycroft will compete for the ultimate DWTS prize: the All-Star season's Mirror Ball trophy.
