We love a good family reality show! And "The Osbournes" was one of the best. The MTV series, which gave us a look into the lives and shenanigans of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his loved ones — wife Sharon Osbourne and two of their three kids, Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne — debuted back on March 5, 2002. To celebrate the reality show's 20th anniversary, Wonderwall.com is revisiting some of the Osbournes' biggest headline-making moments and checking in on them to see how their lives have changed…

Ozzy Osbourne
Before he became a reality television star, Ozzy Osbourne was best known as the lead singer of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, which was founded in 1968. In 2001, less than a year before "The Osbournes" debuted on MTV, Ozzy released his eighth solo studio album, "Down to Earth," which reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The end of "The Osbournes" in March 2005 marked Ozzy's triumphant return to his first love: music! In November 2005, the Black Sabbath rocker released his ninth solo studio album, "Under Cover," which he's since followed with three more: 2007's "Black Rain," 2010's "Scream" and 2020's "Ordinary Man." In 2013, Black Sabbath reunited to release their 19th and final album, "13.") But while Ozzy's professional life continued to thrive, his personal life was marked by controversy…

In 2016, the world learned that Ozzy Osbourne had been cheating on Sharon Osbourne, his wife of more than 30 years at the time, with hairdresser Michelle Pugh. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph in 2017, Sharon further disclosed that he was unfaithful with multiple women. "Some Russian teenager, then a masseuse in England, our masseuse [in the States] and then our cook," she said. "He had women in different countries. Basically, if you're a woman giving Ozzy either a back rub or a trolley of food, God help you." His relationship with Michelle, however, was reportedly the longest — the two secretly engaged in a four-year affair. "When I say he gave me the greatest love of my life, I mean it," Michelle told People magazine in 2016. "He made me feel like the most beautiful and worshipped woman in the world." Ozzy, however, has insisted that his relationship with Michelle was nothing more than physical. He and Sharon briefly split but soon reconciled following the cheating scandal.

Following their 2016 split after it emerged that Ozzy Osbourne cheated with hairdresser Michelle Pugh, wife Sharon Osbourne admitted to drugging her husband to learn more about his extramarital affairs. "I was a broken woman," Sharon told The Sun in 2018. "He sent me an email that was meant for one of his women. Then he took his sleeping pills. I put an extra two in his drink… and asked him everything, and everything came out. He would have never told me the truth, ever. He was ashamed, afraid. I knew how long. I knew who it was. I knew what he was thinking and then, you know, you leave." Sharon, however, decided to forgive her husband. "Ozzy told me it was over with this woman and I believed him. Then, six months later, I found out it wasn't and there were others." She went on to share how she couldn't trust him. "I worry about that," she admitted. "I don't trust him as far as I can throw him. Nothing in the world hurts like infidelity. Nothing."

Following the news of Ozzy Osbourne's infidelity, his future with wife Sharon Osbourne seemed shaky, but they've since made it work. In 2017, Ozzy and Sharon renewed their vows on Mother's Day ahead of their 35th wedding anniversary on July 4. "For me, this was actually our real wedding day," Ozzy told HELLO! magazine. "This is the one that I will remember. Sharon and I have been through so much, and this honestly feels like a new beginning." Sharon shared the same sentiment. "It was hard to rebuild the trust, but I can't imagine my life without Ozzy," she told the outlet. "The ceremony was just beautiful. We've fallen in love all over again."

In January 2020, Ozzy Osbourne revealed major news about his health: He has Parkinson's disease. According to the Black Sabbath rocker, he found out about it after suffering a fall in February 2019. "It's been terribly challenging for us all," Ozzy told Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America." "I did my last show New Year's Eve at The Forum. Then I had a bad fall. I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves." Sharon Osbourne further explained Ozzy's diagnosis. "It's PRKN 2," she said. "There's so many different types of Parkinson's — it's not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it's — it's like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day."
Sharon Osbourne
Before Sharon Osbourne found mainstream fame on reality TV, she was Ozzy's manager. In 1996, she co-founded Ozzfest, the wildly successful summer music festival-turned-tour. She went on to launch her own company, Sharon Osbourne Management, and managed artists including Motörhead and The Smashing Pumpkins.

While "The Osbournes" may have come to an end in 2005, it was just the beginning for Sharon Osbourne and her controversy-filled career in Hollywood! In the years following her family's MTV series, Sharon served as a judge on reality television competition shows including "The X Factor" and "America's Got Talent." 2010 marked the beginning of her tumultuous relationship with CBS as she became a co-host on the daytime talk show "The Talk." After a decade-long run, she was asked to leave "The Talk" in 2021 in the wake of her controversial defense of pal Piers Morgan that sparked allegations of racism (more on that later).

In 2012, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning she had the BRCA1 genetic mutation that increases her likelihood of developing breast cancer. The talk show host had battled colon cancer 10 years earlier, so taking this precautionary measure was important to her. "As soon as I found out I had the breast cancer gene, I thought, 'The odds are not in my favor,'" Sharon told HELLO! magazine. "I've had cancer before and I didn't want to live under that cloud. I decided to just take everything off, and had a double mastectomy." Her decision to undergo the procedure occurred the same year son Jack was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and granddaughter Pearl (one of Jack's daughters with then-wife Lisa Stelly) was born. "For me, it wasn't a big decision, it was a no-brainer," Sharon said. "I didn't want to live the rest of my life with that shadow hanging over me. I want to be around for a long time and be a grandmother to Pearl. I didn't even think of my breasts in a nostalgic way, I just wanted to be able to live my life without that fear all the time. It's not 'pity me,' it's a decision I made that's got rid of this weight that I was carrying around." Sharon continued making headlines…

If there's one thing we can count on Sharon Osbourne for, it's being candid. After making controversial remarks about the talents of the child contestants on Britain's "The X Factor," in September 2018, Sharon officially announced she wouldn't be returning to the show. During an interview with radio host Howard Stern, she addressed why she didn't partake in the show's audition segments and said, among other things, that the kids "all suck." She later took to Facebook to make her departure official. "After watching the new season #XFactor unfold, I've seen the new judges finding their rhythm and are doing brilliantly," she wrote. "Simon [Cowell] was so gracious to find me a spot on the live shows but at this point I really don't think I'm needed and I would honestly feel odd coming in at this point. So I have decided to pass on the series this year. I wish the show continued success and as much as I love to get my face on TV you will have to do without me this season."

Sharon Osbourne is no stranger to plastic surgery, but years of going under the knife took a toll on her. While visiting "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in October 2019, she opened up about a recent facelift — her fourth. "I am [scared], sure, because you could wake up and look like cyclops," she told Kelly. "I had this thing where they lifted up my mouth and then for the first week I couldn't feel my mouth. I can hardly feel my mouth now to be honest with you. I couldn't find my mouth." This wasn't the first time Sharon was honest about her cosmetic procedures — in her 2013 memoir "Unbreakable: My New Autobiography," she wrote that "there's not much I haven't had tweaked, stretched, peeled, lasered, veneered, enhanced or removed altogether."

In December 2019, Sharon Osbourne received immense media backlash after she shared a story about how she dismissed Ozzy Osbourne's assistant after sending him into a fire. During an interview on the BBC's "Why Would I Lie To You," Sharon recounted the time she and her rocker husband lit candles in their living room, went up to bed and awoke to flames. Sharon recalled that their assistant was asleep in the guesthouse. "So I go into the guesthouse and he's going, 'Everything all right,'" Sharon said. "And I'm like, "No! House is on fire! Get out! Help! Go in, get the paintings out… There were dogs, and I said, 'You must go in to find the dogs.'" After an ambulance arrived, the assistant was given an oxygen mask — though Sharon was opposed to this. "So then I said to him, 'How very dare you! You work here and you get more paintings out right now,'" she continued. "And I took the mask and I put it on my dog." Days after the fire, Sharon and Ozzy were laughing about it — but the assistant didn't find it funny. "Then I said, 'If you don't think that's funny, do you think this is funny?' And he goes, 'What?' I said, 'You're fired,'" she said in the segment. Twitter was flooded with comments and posts from people who found Sharon's actions cruel and horrendous. "She risks her employees life for her material objects then disposes of him like trash. This is why I will never be a personal assistant again!" wrote one user.

In late March 2021, CBS announced that Sharon Osbourne was leaving her co-host role on "The Talk" following her controversial defense of pal Piers Morgan and a heated exchange she had with fellow co-host Sheryl Underwood. The women got into an on-air altercation after Sharon defended things Piers said about Duchess Meghan questioning the validity of her mental health struggles and her allegations of racism within Britain's royal family. Sharon demanded that Sheryl "educate" her on racism and later said that she'd been accused of being racist for backing Piers. "I am angry, I'm hurt," she told Bill Maher in April 2021. "I've been called so many things in my life… but a racist is one thing I will not take."
Kelly Osbourne
While she's since forged her own path, Kelly Osbourne wasn't always familiar with the spotlight. During her time on "The Osbournes," she became known for her dry humor, use of profanity and unique sense of style.

In June 2005, just a few months after "The Osbournes" went off the air, Kelly Osbourne released her second studio album, "Sleeping in the Nothing." While music may not have been her calling, Kelly continued to find success in Hollywood: She competed on the ninth season of "Dancing With the Stars," served as a co-host on E!'s "Fashion Police," had a brief stint on "The View" as a co-host and was a special guest judge on shows including "America's Next Top Model" and "RuPaul's Drag Race." From 2015 to 2017, she was a judge on "Project Runway Junior." Of course, like her mom and dad, Kelly's been no stranger to negative press…

Just four years after "The Osbournes" left the air, Kelly Osbourne found herself at the center of controversy. In the summer of 2008, the then-23-year-old star was arrested for slapping gossip columnist Zoe Griffin of the Sunday Mirror. The alleged assault came after Zoe wrote an article that described Kelly's former fiancé Luke Worrall (pictured) as being stupid for not understanding what an earthquake was. Kelly was released on bail after the incident occurred, though it's unclear how the case concluded. Kelly's long made headlines for her love life. She's dated a string of musicians and creatives including The Used frontman Bert McCracken, Matt Derham from the Fields, chef Matthew Mosshart — to whom she was engaged in 2013 — as well as model Jimmy Q, cinematographer-editor Erik Bragg and, as of 2022, Slipknot turntablist Sid Wilson.

In August 2015 while she was a guest co-host on "The View," Kelly Osbourne sparked controversy when she made an insensitive, racist comment about Latinos: "If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?" Her remark, which came during a discussion about the businessman-turned-president's stance on immigration, caused a firestorm on social media, with many people using the Twitter hashtag #QueridaKellyOsbourne. Ironically, Kelly's racist comment came mere months after she opted to leave her previous role as a host on "Fashion Police" allegedly due to a racially charged remark made by Giuliana Rancic.

Since "The Osbournes" concluded in 2005, Kelly Osbourne has repeatedly made headlines amid her battle with addiction. Kelly, who's always been quite outspoken about her struggles with drugs and alcohol, thanked her family for their support in a touching Instagram post in 2018 when she celebrated a year of sobriety follow a devastating relapse. "This past year has been one of the hardest years of my life and I feel it's time [to] share that with you guys," she wrote. "To cut a long story short things got really dark. I gave up on everything in my life but most of all I gave up on myself. Life on life's terms became too much for me to handle. The only way I knew how to function was to self medicate and go from project to project so I never had to focus on what was really going on with me."

In April 2021, Kelly Osbourne took to her Instagram Story to reveal that she was struggling with addiction issue again. "I relapsed. Not proud of it," she wrote. "But I've learned it truly is just one day at a time… and I just want to tell you guys the truth because I never, ever want to lie to you." In an interview with "Extra," she spoke candidly about her problems, saying, "I am an addict and had thought that I had enough time under my belt and I could drink like a normal person, and it turns out I cannot and I will never be normal … I don't know why I even tried it. It's not for me, and it took me a matter of days and I was like, 'Done, not doing this.'"
Jack Osbourne
On "The Osbournes," Jack Osbourne — the youngest member of the family — was portrayed as a rebellious teenager who would often argue with older sister Kelly.
_
After "The Osbournes," Jack Osbourne found success as a television host! From 2005 to 2009, he hosted the British reality television series "Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie." The first season chronicled six months of his life as he mentally and physically prepared to climb California's El Capitan summit. In 2011, "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne" — a documentary that Jack produced about his rock star father — premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. From 2016 to 2018, Jack appeared alongside Ozzy on the reality TV series "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour."

In 2012, Jack Osbourne announced that he'd been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (he has RRMS — relapsing-remitting MS) after he went blind in his right eye and felt unusual numbness in his legs. He later opened up about moments he wonders why this happened to him. "Depression is the most common side effect of sufferers with multiple sclerosis," Jack told CNN in 2016. "I don't take medication for it, but I do have bouts of it." Jack has credited former love Lisa Stelly (pictured) — his wife from 2012 to 2018 whom he shares daughters Pearl, Andy and Minnie — with helping him get through the MS diagnosis. In December 2021, Jack announced his engagement to interior designer Aree Gearhart.
