While speaking with the press on Monday, March 10, Mark Kelly recalled the horrific scenes he bore witness to while visiting Ukraine after President
Donald Trump paused military aid and information sharing with the country.
"I saw how cutting it off now risks everything so many Ukrainians have laid down their lives for. And while our support hasn't been free, we haven't sent even half of what President Trump says," the decorated Navy veteran told the media.

Mark Kelly then took aim at Russian President
Vladimir Putin's attacks on Ukraine. "Hospitals should never be targets in war, but Putin is a war criminal who targets hospitals routinely," the former astronaut claimed.
"I visited one in Kyiv. Injured soldiers told me how they want to get back to the fight. Nurses there shared their stories of the invasion with me through tears. Stories of violence that women and children of Ukraine suffered during the invasion," Kelly recalled.

Elon Musk took to X on Monday, March 10, to express his outrage over Mark Kelly's support of the Ukraine. "You are a traitor," the
tech mogul wrote on the social media platform.
The veteran ripped into Musk, replying, "Traitor? Elon, if you don't understand that defending freedom is a basic tenet of what makes America great and keeps us safe, maybe you should leave it to those of us who do."

The feud between Mark Kelly and Elon Musk comes after Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky's disastrous meeting at the
White House on February 28 over his lack of gratitude for America's help amid their ongoing war with Russia.
"You don't have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards," Trump scolded Zelensky during the tense sit-down in the Oval Office.

"I'm not playing cards," Volodymyr Zelesnky told Donald Trump.
"Yeah, you're playing cards," the Republican leader emphasized. "You're gambling with the lives of millions of people. You're gambling with World War III. You're gambling with World War III. And what you're doing is very
disrespectful to the country, this country."
