John Legend scored an undeniable hit with "All of Me," the song he wrote about his wife, Chrissy Teigen.

But the singer-songwriter hasn't had much luck recreating his success with an ode to the other most important woman in his life: his unborn daughter -- not yet, at least!

"[I've] definitely been trying to write a song for my daughter -- it's hard!" he told Us Weekly during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Jan. 24.

"Part of me thinks maybe I just have to see her before I can write it, but I've been trying to just kind of think about what fatherhood means and what I should say to her," he continued.

But sharing his love of music with his baby girl isn't the only thing about being a father that the Grammy winner is eagerly anticipating.

"I'm excited to teach her and love her and do all the things that good parents should do," he says.

As for having a girl, John couldn't be more thrilled: "I was excited," he says of finding out the sex of his baby. "I would've been excited if it was a boy too, but either way, I'm excited that we're gonna have someone that is a product of our love."

The Oscar and Grammy winner also opened up about his supermodel wife. "She's doing well," he said. "Obviously, she's pregnant and right in the thick of it. We're really excited to have our first child. This is a new experience for both of us."

John and Chrissy announced that they were expecting their first child on Instagram in October 2015.

"John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family," the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model captioned a photo of herself laughing while stretched out on a sofa with her hubby's hand on her belly.

"We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx" she continued.

Congrats, you crazy kids!
