Kanye West has a way of taking over the stage at the MTV VMAs like when he took Taylor Swift's moment in 2009 and once again, he managed to make it all about him on Aug. 28, 2016.
The rapper had just four minutes before premiering a clip from his new music video for "Fade," but he managed to cover everything he wanted to say, controversies and all.
"I am Kanye West, and that feels really great to say, especially this year. I came here to present my new video, but before I do that, I'ma talk," he told the audience.
Taylor was not safe from this speech.
"Now, later tonight, 'Famous' might lose to Beyonce, but I can't be mad. I'm always wishing for Beyonce to win," he said as a way to make light of the incident in 2009 where he took the stage during Taylor's acceptance to say that Beyonce should have won over her.
He then brought her up again and then infamous phone call he made that his wife Kim Kardashian West later leaked as a serious of Snapchat videos.
"This is fame, bro! I see you Amber! My wife is a G. Not a lot of people's wives would let them say that right there. We came over on the same boat, now we all in the same bed. Well, maybe different boats," he continued." But if you think about last week, it was 22 people murdered in Chicago. People come up to me, like, 'That's right, tell Taylor!' I'm like, 'Bro, I love all y'all! That's why I called her!"
In the phone call, Taylor had seemingly signed off on the rapper's "Famous" lyric about her in which he says, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b--ch famous."
That controversial NSFW "Famous" music video featured 12 naked wax celeb figures in bed together including Taylor, Anna Wintour, Donald Trump and Kim's ex from her sex tape, Ray J.
So Kanye brought attention to that too when he spoke about "Famous" on stage at the VMAs.
"But for people to understand just how blessed we are, it was an expression of our now, our fame right now, us on the inside of the TV," he said. "Just the audacity to put Anna Wintour next to Donald Trump — I put Ray J in there, bro!"
Kanye also managed to talk about his role models, and in true Kanye style, he included his own last name in there among the influencers.
"My roles model are artists, merchants — less than 10 than I can name in history. Truman, Ford, Hughes, Disney, Jobs, West," he said.
As if this was not enough for one night, his video for "Fade" was also fascinating. It stars Teyana Taylor, who does a series of dance moves that are inspired by the 1983 movie "Flashdance." There's also a shower sex scene between her and her husband NBA player Iman Shumpert, and not to spoil the ending if you have yet to see it, but her face transforms into a cat!
With speeches like tonight's, it's no wonder Kanye has thought about the political race.
He has talked about a presidential run, and now it's becoming easier to already see the crowd chant, "Yeezy!"
