Kate Hudson has some serious pipes on her -- who knew?!

On Friday May 6, the blonde beauty seriously impressed the crowd at mom Goldie Hawn's annual Love In For Kids benefit on with a rousing performance of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U," which later became famous when Sinead O'Connor covered it in 1990.

In the clip that the 37-year-old actress, who just reignited dating rumors with ex boytoy Nick Jonas, posted to her Instagram, she croons a sultry version of the chart-topping hit while wearing a sexy black one-shoulder dress. Oh la la!

The song selection seems like the perfect way to honor the late musician, who died at his Paisley Park estate outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 21 at the age of 57.

On the same day as Hudson's performance, Prince's family announced it would be planning a memorial service to "take place in the near future."

Prince's siblings said in a statement, "We would like everyone to know that, contrary to previous and current reports, there has been no memorial, funeral or tribute service for Prince that was organized or authorized by the family or Paisley Park representatives."

Meanwhile at Friday night's event in Beverly Hills, Hawn and Hudson chatted with People mag about what they were doing for Mother's Day -- and it sounds quite dreamy.

Hawn said that the mother/daughter duo would be served brunch and mimosas by the males in their family. We'd love to see Kurt Russell serving up some scrambled eggs!

The comedic icon said, "We're going to Kate's. Everybody's kids will make things and all the guys will be there, and then we'll all get in bed and eat."

Sounds heavenly if you ask us!
