Kim Kardashian West's baby has reached a turning point … literally.
Last week, the very pregnant reality star had said that her baby was in breech position and she was researching anything and everything on how to get the baby to turn and get into a normal position in her womb.
It finally happened!
In a blog post on Dec. 1 titled "Baby West Update: All Turned Around!", Kim wrote about how her doctors got her unnamed baby to get into proper position.
"So I wanted to give you guys an update on my pregnancy since my last post," she wrote. "This weekend, I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an ECV (External Cephalic Version, or a Version), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position. They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby."
She had previously said she was hoping to avoid a C-section if possible, which could have happened if the baby hadn't turned.
"Obviously, if it's an emergency and for the safety of my son, I will get a C-section -- but if I don't need one, I'd rather not," she wrote.
Prior to the ECV, Kim said she was ready to get a C-section this weekend.
"There was a risk that my water might break or the baby's heart rate could drop -- in which case, an emergency C-section would then take place. I went in with my sisters and my husband [Kanye West]. I was prepared for it all!" she wrote. "They don't give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth."
Then, Kim revealed the big news. "It worked!!! My baby is in the right position and it feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section. I'm so thankful for my doctors!"
Kim is due to give birth to her and Kanye's second child around Christmas. However, it's been reported that she will likely give birth early because of health concerns. Right now, she has a health issue again, albeit a small one in the grand scheme of things.
"I now have a cold and sinus infection, so I have to fight through this and get better!" she told her fans. "I'm going to have North have a sleepover with her cousins for the next two days so I can really sleep and get better. She loves sleepovers and I really need this time to get better. I haven't been able to sleep and just need to catch up."
