"I bought a Tesla because it was fast like a rocket ship," Mark Kelly, who previously worked as an astronaut, told his fans in an X post on Friday, March 14.
"But now every time I drive it, I feel like a rolling billboard for a man dismantling our government and hurting people," he added. "So Tesla, you're fired! New ride coming soon."

Mark Kelly previously argued on social media with Elon Musk, whom he branded as Donald Trump's "special government employee."
"There's thousands of Ukrainian soldiers just like Anton, fighting to protect their home and their people from Russia's invasion," the veteran wrote. "But now President Trump is risking each of them and their families to side with the war criminal Putin."

He urged the president to "skip a round of golf and visit Ukraine!"
"You are a traitor," Elon Musk angrily replied to the decorated Navy veteran.

Despite Elon Musk's reaction, Mark Kelly doubled down in his support of Ukraine.
"If Elon thinks standing with Ukraine makes me a traitor, then he knows nothing about keeping America safe," he posted on March 11.
Kelly later noted he took a "sworn oath" to protect the Constitution, while Musk only committed to caring for "his billionaire buddies."

Since aligning himself with Donald Trump, Elon Musk's Tesla brand has been on the decline. The president later claimed there was agenda to destroy Musk's company.
"I think he's been treated very unfairly by a very small group of people. And I just want people to know that he can't be penalized for being a patriot. And he's a great patriot, and he's also done an incredible job with Tesla," the president said.

In a Truth Social post, Donald Trump blamed the Democrats for Elon Musk's professional struggles.
"To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is 'putting it on the line' in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB," the former reality star wrote.
"But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World's great automakers, and Elon's 'baby,' in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for," he continued.

Donald Trump later compared his struggle to return to the White House to Elon Musk's Tesla stock's decline.
"They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out? In any event, I'm going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American," Trump wrote.
"Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN?" he added.
