Could it actually happen? Are exes Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake actually collaborating on a new song together?
The answer might be a resounding yes!

According to Us Weekly, the two hosts behind the podcast Pop University were attending a recent taping of "Boy Band," which stars Timbaland. During a commercial break the hosts tried to get the hitmaker's attention to speak about "Justney." It seems that Timbaland thought they asked about Justin, who he's worked with for years.
"It's coming! New music, 2018," Timbaland said, referring to Justin's next album. The hosts realized that Timbaland misheard them and said, "No, no. Justney, Justney!" They further clarified by saying, "Justin and Britney and you."
Timbaland's response: "Yes, it's coming. It's coming."

Justin and Britney, of course, dated from 1999-2002, but things didn't end well when reports claimed that Britney cheated on JT with choreographer Wade Robson. Although Justin has never confirmed it, there is wide speculation that his hit "Cry Me a River" was about Brit.
Clearly, though, they've both moved on to a happier place in their lives. Last year, Britney was asked about who her dream collaborators would be and she mentioned Justin.
"Aerosmith seems really good and bright. [Frontman Steven Tyler] is a genius, I think. He's very rock 'n' roll. He sings from his soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she's great," she said, before adding, "Justin Timberlake is very good."

Upon hearing this, Justin seemed thrilled.
"She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely," he told E! News upon hearing that Britney wants to collaborate. "I have a 17 month old so I don't get the headline news. I apologize for being not in the know."
He added, "I'm accessible, give us a call!"
