John Oliver used Cheryl Hines' awkward Instagram post as a segue to discuss Kristi Noem's recent trip to El Salvador.
"OK. The visual alone there is deeply disturbing," Oliver said. "Using caged prisoners with shaved heads as a backdrop is a bold choice given — you know —history."
"And it's now the most appalling use of a front-facing video from anyone in this administration, even surpassing the time Cheryl Hines hawked body cream in front of [an unclothed] RFK Jr. showing off his wet armpits," Oliver added. "And I do not say that lightly."

Kristi Noem flaunted her trip to a prison in El Salvador on X. The Secretary of Homeland Security shared that the United States will send deported migrants to the detention center.
"This is clearly a total mess," Oliver said.
"That's not how the justice system works," he continued while referring to the Fifth Amendment, which asserts everyone's right to due process. "That's it! It doesn't then add in the small print, 'Unless they seem guilty by association to a man who looks like Buzz Lightyear drowned a few days ago.'"

As Donald Trump and Kristi Noem continue to carry out mass deportations, federal judges have been ruling that many of their choices are unconstitutional.
"The good news is, they're facing major pushback from federal courts over their mass deportations," John Oliver noted.
"The bad news is, they've already done a ton of damage," he continued. "But if they think they can brush off illegally detaining and imprisoning innocent people with the same flippancy they reserve for adding the wrong person to a group chat, they should know in no uncertain terms that the rest of us will push back hard."

On Wednesday, March 26, Kristi Noem shared photos from her time in El Salvador.
"I toured the CECOT, El Salvador's Terrorism Confinement Center. President Trump and I have a clear message to criminal illegal aliens: LEAVE NOW," Noem wrote on X.
"If you do not leave, we will hunt you down, arrest you, and you could end up in this El Salvadorian prison," she added.

Social media users found Kristi Noem's post to be insensitive, as she was seen wearing expensive items while in a foreign prison.
"She's flexing a gold Rolex to a max security prison in El Salvador," one user replied. "How pretentious can a person be."
"That prison looks like a Nazi concentration camp, with all the prisoners piled on top of each, heads shaved," another stated. "And then there's you, in your tight t-shirt, perfectly coiffed hair and makeup. This is really gross."
