Tensions reportedly flared between members of the 12-person jury when one individual threatened another during deliberations over Jessica Mann's allegations that Harvey Weinstein assaulted her more than a decade ago — one of the many accusations against the former Hollywood powerhouse."Sometimes jury deliberations become heated. I understand this particular deliberation was more needed than some others," Judge Curtis Farber told the group before declaring a mistrial.
According to the New York Post, the legal authority personally asked the foreperson making the threat accusation if they would be able to join the group to come to a final decision. "No, I'm sorry," the foreperson reportedly replied.
The situation reportedly began to unravel when Juror No. 1 claimed another member of the jury told them, "I would meet you outside one day."
When the person refused to return to deliberations, Weinstein reportedly clapped three times.

On Wednesday, June 11, Harvey Weinstein was found guilty of the sexual assault of former Project Runway production assistant Miriam Haley at his home in 2006.However, the jury acquitted the Miramax co-founder of an additional charge of sexual assault in the case of Kaja Sokola — who did not testify in Weinstein's original 2020 trial.
During the original 2020 trial, the filmmaker was convicted of a criminal sex act in the first degree for the alleged crime against Haley. Weinstein was also convicted of r*** in the third degree in relation to Jessica Mann's accusation. He was acquitted on two charges of predatory sexual assault and an additional charge of r*** in the first degree and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.

In response to the Wednesday, June 11, conviction, a spokesperson for Harvey Weinstein, Juda Engelmayer, said, "After eight years, dozens of accusers and three trials, we are left with a single conviction — one we firmly believe will not stand, due to gross juror misconduct. Harvey is, of course, disappointed by the verdict, but he remains determined and resolute in his fight to clear his name."While addressing the mistrial on Thursday, June 12, Engelmayer explained, "We take the wins where we get them and the acquittal on the [Kaja] Sokola charge was a major one. A conviction there would have reset the sentencing clock entirely. This trial has raised substantial appellate issues."
Weinstein also has a 16-year sentence in Los Angeles for a separate conviction. New York prosecutors said they will continue with the remaining r*** charge and explore other potential cases within the statute of limitations.
