During the briefing with the media, Tom Homan announced an estimated 139,000 illegal immigrants have been deported since Donald Trump returned to Washington, D.C., earlier this year."Last time I was counting, it was 139,000 deportations. Am I happy with the numbers? The numbers are good, especially if you look at the ICE numbers," the law enforcement officer said via the New York Post.
Homan then took aim at former president Joe Biden's deportation statistics. "The ICE arrests and removals are far beyond Biden's," he added. "I read the media … 'the deportations are behind the Biden administration.' Well, why? Because they counted border removal. We don't have 10.5 million people crossing the border. We don't have border removals."

Tom Homan claimed there are still "over 20 million" illegal immigrants in the United States. However, Donald Trump's administration will zero in on the people accused or convicted of crimes."Last I looked, it was about 700,000 illegal aliens with criminal charges walking the streets of this country — 700,000 and that's who we're looking for now, that's [what we're] prioritizing, them and national security threats," the official noted.
During the gathering, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed the president would sign more executive orders addressing "sanctuary" jurisdictions that do not comply with his immigration orders.

On Monday, April 28, the White House lawn was covered in posters of illegal immigrants who have been accused or convicted of crimes and sent out of America by Donald Trump's administration."It's sick. It's the worst crime in the world when you sexually assault a child, I mean, the most innocent of us all," Tom Homan said of some of the alleged actions before going on to slam Joe Biden.
"There's no more heinous crime. And as you can see, the amount of child rapists we've arrested under this administration that could have been arrested under the Biden administration. But they didn't go look for them. They were too busy releasing millions of illegal aliens into this country," Homan said.

Earlier this month, Tom Homan gave an interview about his initial impatience with the deportation process and the alleged lack of funds."I support any approach that gives us the money we need to do this operation," he explained to Semafor on Monday, April 7. "Is it taking too long? Yes, it's taking too long. I wish they would have passed [a budget resolution] by now."
"We've got to have Congress fund this operation," he continued. "I mean, we're hoping to get some funding through reconciliation, but now that's — we got to hope Congress gets that done, because there is a limited amount of funds. And to do more, we got to buy more detention beds. We need more flights. We need more officers. We need more overtime. Bottom line is: The more money we get, the more successful we will be. After four years of millions of people entering the country illegally, we got a lot of people … but resources matter. We got to hire more agents. And the biggest issue I see right now is the need for more detention beds."
