After Donald Trump joined forces with Israel to bomb Iran without Congressional approval, citizens and politicians alike claimed the president overstepped his power."What do you say to members of Congress who say it was unconstitutional for the president to act unilaterally?" Kristen Welker asked J.D. Vance.
In response, the VP quickly dismissed the outrage. "The president has clear authority to act to prevent proliferation of weapons of mass destruction," Vance said. "And the worst weapon of mass destruction of them all is nuclear. The idea that this was outside of presidential authority, I think any real serious legal person would tell you that's not true."

J.D. Vance then took a swipe at the men who came before Donald Trump, including Joe Biden, Barack Obama and George W. Bush."I certainly empathize with Americans who are exhausted after 25 years of foreign entanglements in the Middle East," the former senator from Ohio noted. "I understand the concern. But the difference is that back then we had dumb presidents and now we have a president who actually knows how to accomplish America's national security objectives. So this is not going to be some long, drawn-out thing."

J.D. Vance also took to X to clarify that the Trump administration views the strikes as a "new foreign policy doctrine.""We are seeing a foreign policy doctrine develop that will change the country (and the world) for the better: 1) clearly define an American interest; 2) negotiate aggressively to achieve that interest; 3) use overwhelming force if necessary," he penned about the situation.
