One MSNBC anchor isn't buying
Donald Trump's recent round of threats.
Joe Scarborough claimed that the president's rants on a wide range of topics — from
Barack Obama to the name of the Washington Commanders football team — are simply a tactic to distract the public from the
Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

During a recent MSNBC
broadcast, Joe Scarborough spoke with co-host
Jonathan Lemire about Donald Trump and why he might be panicking over the Jeffrey Epstein files more than he's letting on. "Pretty much, what everyone in Washington and New York, anybody in politics have concluded, is that Donald Trump is throwing everything at the wall," Scarborough alleged. "You can say he's doing it to distract from Epstein, you can say he's doing it to distract from whatever, but there is no doubt he's throwing everything at the wall. From football names to Barack Obama, you name it."

Jonathan Lemire pointed out that Donald Trump's next target could be Hunter Biden after he claimed his father, Joe Biden, was taking the insomnia medication Ambien in the days before his disastrous debate performance against the Republican leader. "It's only a matter of time before President Trump weighs in on Hunter Biden interview because it seems like there's not a topic out of his reach at the moment," the reporter said. "We haven't seen him since, but we've heard from him quite a bit on Truth Social," he continued. "I've been told from aides that he's angry about some of the coverage. He is trying to change the subject."

Joe Scarborough claimed that Donald Trump's attempts to use his presidential power to carry out personal vendettas is a typical approach for the right-winger since his first term in office. "They're doing everything from releasing records from the Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination against the family's best wishes to spinning oldies but goodies, the political equivalent of [the popular '50s song] 'Blueberry Hill,'" he said. "Talking about Barack Obama and 'Russian-gate' takes you back to the first months of Donald Trump's first administration."

Despite claiming the backlash is only helping his popularity, Donald Trump sued The Wall Street Journal for their report that he contributed a lewd note for Jeffrey Epstein's 50th birthday present in 2003. The former star of The Apprentice called the claim "fake and defamatory." However, the publication responded in a statement, "We have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting and will vigorously defend against any lawsuit."
