"We are all afraid," Lisa Murkowski shared while attending a summit of nonprofit leaders in Anchorage on Monday, April 14."It's quite a statement, but we are in a time and a place where I certainly have not been here before," she continued. "And I'll tell ya, I'm oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice, because retaliation is real. And that's not right."

Over the years, Lisa Murkowski has been considered a moderate figure within the Republican Party.And she made it clear she will "use my voice to the best of my ability," as Donald Trump continues to align himself with other members of her party.

The Alaskan politician admitted she is feeling the shock of living under a second Donald Trump administration."It is head-spinning," Lisa Murkowski said about the current political climate. "It seems that just when you've made a little bit of progress on one issue that had caused so much anxiety, there's another one."
"It is as hard as anything I have been engaged in, in the 20-plus years I've been in the Senate," she added.

White House assistant press secretary Taylor Rogers addressed Lisa Murkowski's comments in a recent interview."President Trump's only retribution is success and historic achievements for the American people," Rogers told the New York Post.
At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2023, Donald Trump infamously declared, "I am your retribution."

Lisa Murkowski later attempted to validate her fears."I think it's important the concerns continue to be raised rather than letting the fatigue of the chaos grind you down," she said.
However, National Review writer Dan McLaughlin shut down her claims.
"Nobody in the whole federal government is less afraid than Lisa Murkowski, who has survived multiple primary challenges, got re-elected as a third-party write-in candidate after losing one, and has had her state rewrite its election laws just to protect her," McLaughlin said, according to the New York Post.

Donald Trump's allies were vocal about their disagreement with Lisa Murkowski."I think it's a good thing that our politicians are afraid of the voters," Townhall columnist Kurt Schlichter wrote on X.
"But where was she over the past 4 years when Biden was using lawfare to go after his political opponents?? Oh that's right, she's really a Democrat," the Heritage Foundation media fellow Tim Young wrote on social media.
