That's a wrap on the 2017 MTV VMAs! Since all the Moonmen have been handed out, it's time to take a better look at what the stars wore — and weigh in on the hits and the misses of the night! First up, the host of the evening, Katy Perry. We have to admit, we're seriously underwhelmed. This is what we were waiting for?! Though most expected her to show up in a jaw-dropping look, Katy Perry wore this snooze of a white dress by Stephane Rolland, which featured one sleeve, some sort of half-cape, a massive cutout in the middle and an impressively angled train. Keep reading to see her hair and makeup and check out which other stars we wish would have consulted with a different stylist!
Though her blue carpet look wasn't great (and neither were those massive, bizarre earrings), Katy Perry's hair and makeup were on-point. The star wore her short blonde 'do choppy and straight and opted for pretty eyeshadow shades and a light-colored lip.

We adored Demi Lovato's super-sexy Zuhair Murad ensemble. The star donned a sheer black bodysuit with strategically placed lace designs paired with a pair of embroidered black harem pants from the designer's Fall 2016 Couture Collection. We loved the new take on the typical sheer look, and the way she managed to make harem pants totally work on a red carpet. Next up? Her gorgeous hair and makeup!

Demi Lovato went with wild waves, parted in the middle. For makeup, she kept things warm-toned and neutral, amounting to one of the prettiest beauty looks of the night.
We're certainly not used to this star showing up among the misses, but Alessandra Ambrosio's Balmain outfit left us perplexed. It appears as if she's wearing a minidress over lace-up, patterned pants… that are also shoes? Regardless of what's actually happening here, even a supermodel couldn't pull it off, which makes this a huge miss.
Hailee Steinfeld stunned in an Atelier Versace number at the MTV VMAs. The star wore the shimmering, pleated silver frock, which featured cutouts at the neckline and above the navel, with a pair of super-simple strappy metallic heels to finish the look.
This one's a miss! Heidi Klum really left nothing to the imagination when it came to her VMAs look. She wore this barely there, almost entirely sheer dress by Dundas, which featured an unnecessarily massive cutout in the chest area and a high collar.
Lorde looked as pretty as a princess in Monique Lhuillier. We fell hard for the beautiful ball gown and its feathered skirt, not to mention that show-stopping pale purple hue. The only thing we weren't obsessed with? See that next…
Despite being in love with her dress, we didn't adore Lorde's hairstyle. A gown that glamorous needed a sleek updo, not a half up-half down look with messy waves. We also weren't fans of the neon fuschia and orange shades she opted to sport around her eyes — the colors just didn't go with that pretty pastel look.
Yikes! Another star, another ball gown — but this one takes the cake for the biggest miss of the night: Kesha showed up in the tulle design by Monsoori in a neutral shade with black bow detailing on the sleeves.
Keeping with the ball gown vibe, "Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans opted for a massive black shimmering skirt paired with a flowery crop top for a mismatched two-piece look that definitely wasn't one of our faves of the night. Sorry, Jenelle!
Paris Jackson continues to cement herself as a stylish star to watch. The model-actress hit the blue carpet in this Christian Dior number, and though we've seen other celebs wear variations of the sheer, embroidered style by the designer, Paris pulled off the look best. The funky embroidery combined with the sheer overlay atop a Christian Dior-emblazoned bustier and briefs was the perfect fun frock for the occasion. Equally impressive? Her beauty look, which is up next…
Paris Jackson rocked green-rimmed eyes and warm-toned makeup while opting to keep her two-toned hair down in loose waves. We also loved the dangly silver earrings which, unlike other stars' accessory choices (ahem, Katy Perry), kept the focus on the dress.
Ball gown skirts were certainly all the rage at the award show, with Vanessa Hudgens being the next star to sport the oversized skirt — with a twist. Vanessa's dress featured plenty of sheer portions, from the long-sleeved bodice to the hoop skirt, which also included feathered detailing at the waist and along the bottom. We loved the shade of the star's Yanina Couture creation, but weren't fans of the rest.
Amber Rose, is that you? The star was nearly unrecognizable in a long, dark wig, but regardless of her drastic new 'do, we were big fans of her long-sleeved black dress and its net design amid all that shimmering, sheer fabric. And it paired perfectly with her dramatic, dark lip.
Star of the new MTV show "Dare to Live" Rory Kramer attempted to make a bold fashion statement… and failed. Rory rocked this loud yellow suit (emblazoned with the McDonald's logo touting the McChicken sandwich), a white tee and — the most puzzling part of the ensemble — mismatched tennis shoes.
Millie Bobby Brown continues to school people two and three times her age on red carpets — and this time, she did it in an insanely cool Rodarte look. She paired it with a sleek hairstyle and patent-leather combat boots to elevate the look even further.
Jack Antonoff went with a Canadian tuxedo on the MTV VMA blue carpet. He added a white T-shirt and combat boots, and though we know it's definitely a more casual show than most, we expected a little bit more.
Olivia Munn donned a sparkly minidress by Nicolas Jebran for MTV's big event. The long-sleeved frock featured plenty of color and even a cartoon angel. It was perfectly playful and suited the occasion and paired great with simple silver heels and a dark lip.
Yawn! Newcomer Khalid delivered a lackluster look for his big MTV VMAs debut: a bright orange sweatshirt, black pants and olive green sneakers. Maybe next time he should hire a stylist?
We were not impressed with the men's style at the VMAs. Tyler Posey continued to disappoint, wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, beat-up brown boots and an olive green short-sleeved button-down thrown over top for a super-underwhelming award show look.
A bubblegum pink latex bodysuit would probably be a miss on anyone else, but somehow Nicki Minaj totally pulled off this unconventional look. The rapper finished off the two-piece ensemble with nearly knee-length hair — half blonde, half pink — and a pair of hot pink, orange and white heels.
Compared to some of her previous VMA looks, this one is incredibly tame! But that doesn't necessarily make it a hit! "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham arrived on the blue carpet in this white tank top and pant combination, which she paired with super-tall, metallic over-the-knee boots. Next up, a better look at her hair and makeup!
Don't worry, though her outfit wasn't too bizarre, when it came to hair and makeup, Farrah Abraham was up to her old tricks. The reality TV star wore her newly dyed fiery red hair in a super-high ponytail and rocked child-like face paint designs around her eyes.
Hailey Baldwin selected this sparkly Zuhair Murad jumpsuit for MTV's big night. Though it certainly wasn't a fresh look (how many sparkly/semi-sheer jumpsuits have we seen this year??), the metallic hues and velvet belt were pretty and perfect for the VMAs.
Well… these looks will certainly get them noticed, we guess?! MTV's "Catfish" star Nev Schulman and wife Laura Perlongo definitely made themselves seen in these insanely bright looks on the blue carpet. Laura selected a white crop top, yellow cropped pants and bright orange heels, while Nev sported a maroon suit affixed with a red heart and a yellow Star of David in what was clearly a political statement.
Jurnee Smollett-Bell opted to shimmer down the blue carpet, wearing this pretty rust-colored, long-sleeved minidress and pairing it with equally sparkly studded heels.
A sweatshirt on the blue carpet? Sorry, Noah Cyrus, but this just isn't cutting it. Miley Cyrus's little sister strangely chose to sport an oversized white sweatshirt and thigh-high black boots, and her accessories weren't much better. She added a choker and a pair of fuchsia shades to finish off the unfortunate look.
How cute is this matching family?! Video Vanguard Award recipient Pink showed up on the blue carpet with husband Carey Hart and daughter Willow — and they were all wearing similar suits. While the parents opted for pinstripes, little Willow's black suit featured a polka-dot pattern. Too cute!
Following up a month of bad fashion (as evidenced here), Mel B didn't break her streak of misses at the VMAs. This time, she opted to wear a message on her unfortunate sequined spaghetti-strap dress, which read, "You will never own me."
