Fashion hits and misses from the 2018 Tony Awards

The 2018 Tony Awards have been handed out, and now it's time to rate the fashion! From the good to the terrible, Wonderwall.com is rounding up the best and worst looks from Broadway's biggest night, starting with… a T-shirt on the red carpet? Leave it to Rachel Bloom to crack us up, all while earning herself a spot on the worst dressed list! The star opted to wear a T-shirt paired with a tulle skirt featuring inexplicable red and black embellishments. Though hilarious, the casual and odd combo was an instant miss in our book. Keep reading to see whose face Rachel's wearing and more of the fashion hits and misses from the Tony Awards!

Rachel Bloom didn't just wear any old white T-shirt to the Tony Awards! The backstage host wore one emblazoned with Stephen Sondheim's face, and it has a hilarious backstory! The star previously took to Twitter to request a shirt of the Broadway legend smoking, and the social media site pulled through. A user named Ali Segel made the funny shirt, which depicts Rachel's favorite musical theater composer and lyricist enjoying one of his vices.

Setting the trend! Tina Fey arrived at the Tonys shimmering in silver, rocking this show-stopping metallic short-sleeved frock by Thom Browne complete with a feathered skirt and train. Next up, get a better look at the detailing on this shiny confection.

The up-close view does Tina Fey's silver confection justice, showing off all the sparkly detailing. We loved the way she paired the dress with a rosy lip and dangling Cartier earrings. This silver ensemble set the tone for plenty of other metallic getups, which we'll see later!

Is Rachel Brosnahan's dress reminding anyone else of Kim Kardashian West's infamous floral 2013 Met Gala look? This Dolce & Gabbana frock featured all-over floral just like Kim's "couch dress" and fared about as well with critics. On the bright side? People might have missed this look due to her blending in with that floral background!

Another silver sparkler! Kerry Washington arrived in this Atelier Versace jumpsuit with cutouts at the waist and an attached skirt at the back. The funky frock also featured a plunging neckline and intricate jeweled embellishments, which we'll take a closer look at next!

Starburst embellishments dotted Kerry Washington's silver Versace getup, which plunged nearly down to her navel. We loved the way she rocked her hair straight and sleek while sporting some violet eyeshadow and a pale pink lip.

Tatiana Maslany is one of our faves, but this dress… isn't. The loud tea-length Zac Posen frock featured too much overdone sheer paneling and funky blue and magenta floral detailing. One part of the ensemble we liked? Those strappy stilettos.

Winner, winner! Laurie Metcalf took home the Tony for best featured actress in a play and also took home top honors in the fashion department! Her black-and-white Christian Siriano dress fit her perfectly, and we loved the off-the-shoulder gown's fun draping and sash-turned-train.

Not fetch! We hated this Christian Siriano number on Taylor Louderman. Though the "Mean Girls" star showed up in this white, pink and orange frock complete with a sky-high slit and cape-like train, we think she might have been better off wearing sweatpants.

A good purple pick! Tony Awards co-host Josh Groban sported this sharp purple suit by Gucci. We loved the pops of silver — the color of the night! — which complemented the deep shade perfectly.

Condola Rashad went way back with her Tonys look… like, to an '80s prom! The best leading actress in a play nominee donned a throwback-style gown by Carolina Herrera, which featured puffy off-the-shoulder sleeves, shiny fabric and a very full skirt, complete with a train. Though we loved the color, we're not sure this was the right pick for the star's big night!

Christine Baranski kept things classy in all-white, opting for a chic pantsuit by Alexandre Vauthier featuring cropped pants. But our favorite part of the ensemble? Those amazing shoes! Let's take a closer look!

We might be a little too pedestrian for this one, but Vogue editor Hamish Bowles' getup at the Tony Awards is a miss in our book. The Etro loungewear look, comprised of an opulent robe over what appears to be pajama pants, paired well with slippers and looked super-comfy but definitely not polished enough for an award show.

Tulle time! Sara Bareilles showed up to co-host the Tony Awards in this gorgeous gown by J. Mendel, complete with layer after layer of ruffled tulle. And the bodice was just as intricately detailed as the top! Let's take a closer look…

The bodice of Sara Bareilles' peach gown featured sparkly, sequined embellishments. We wish the star would have done something a little fancier when it came to her hair, as loose waves just didn't do the gown justice.

Carey Mulligan taught us that there is such a thing as too many flowers! The star showed up in this pale pink frock with a yellow floral print by Giambattista Valli. And though the fabric was pretty and perfect for the springtime award show, the high neck and long sleeves on the floor-length frock made the busy print feel excessive.

Best leading actress nominee Lauren Ridloff was a vision in red on the Tonys red carpet. The Broadway star donned this beautiful silky red ballgown by Jason Wu, which she paired with strappy heels and an updo.

Oh, Marissa Jaret Winokur. The "Celebrity Big Brother" winner opted for a too-shiny electric blue dress, which featured something we haven't seen before and hope to never see again: high-low sleeves. Yikes! And those pink drop earrings and silver heels just added insult to injury.

Silver paisley Michael Kors?! Only one of our favorites, Tiffany Haddish, could pull this off on the red carpet! We loved the way she rocked this flashy silver jumpsuit with a high ponytail and a red lip. Next up, check out her incredible earrings!

Tiffany Haddish sported some serious bling on the Tony Awards red carpet — 24.48 carats, to be exact! The star rocked these gorgeous Chopard jewels, which paired perfectly with her Michael Kors jumpsuit.

Claire Danes bared her baby bump at the Tony Awards in entirely too much leopard! We weren't fans of the Valentino gown's shiny animal-print fabric, but we did love the shape of the dress! Let's see it from another angle…

We loved all the ruffles on Claire Danes's Valentino dress, including the ones at the collar. The silhouette was feminine and fun, with each tiered level ended in a ruffle, showing off her baby bump.

Joshua Henry looked dapper on the Tony Awards red carpet. Like Josh Groban, he also adopted for purple — but Joshua chose a lavender shade. His Cloak tuxedo jacket was the perfect pastel hue. Combined with a black bow tie, tuxedo pants and dress shoes, it made this our favorite men's look of the night!

Nominee Amy Schumer attended the Tonys in this underwhelming Brandon Maxwell frock. We weren't fans of the boring sleeveless cut and the oddly placed thigh-high slit up the center.

You can't go wrong with black and lace! Cynthia Erivo's Tony Awards gown was an easy hit. Her dress from New York Vintage featured lace sleeves and a column-style design — proving those two classic staples truly never go out of style. She accessorized with a Judith Leiber clutch and finished things off with Sophia Webster heels.

In theory, the shades of Tony nominee LaChanze's dress should have worked well together. But something about the pretty blue contrasting with sparkly silver on the strapless frock fell flat for us, and the gown ended up seeming more costume-like than couture.

It's not Wednesday, so instead of pink he wore purple! "Mean Girls" star Grey Henson continued the men-in-purple trend at the Tony Awards, opting for this debonair deep purple velvet tuxedo jacket. Our verdict? So fetch!

Renee Fleming brought a pop of neon color to the Tony Awards red carpet, but her majorly hot pink dress left a lot to be desired with its excessive fabric in the form of bell sleeves and a flowing train. The best featured actress in a musical nominee would have been better off if the Vera Wang dress had some embellishment, perhaps a belt or a shorter hemline to break up the bold shade.

Stephanie Styles showed up matching the Tony Awards backdrop! The star donned this beautiful pink strapless design, which featured embellished floral cut-outs, delivering a delicate, darling red carpet look. Her beauty look was just as show-stopping! See that next…

A fishtail braid at an award show? Not the right occasion, Jenna Ushkowitz! The "Glee" alum really underwhelmed on the Tony Awards red carpet, opting for the casual hairstyle alongside her snooze of a navy Gucci gown. Next!

Lady in red! Chita Rivera arrived matching the red carpet, rocking this red one-shouldered evening gown. The pretty frock was the perfect pick for Broadway's big night, and the musical theater superstar kept things matchy-matchy with a red lace duster over top and a shiny red clutch.

There's a lot to unpack here — out of a very odd purse! The Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne added some very strange accessories to his Tony Awards look — a silver glitter bow tie and blue snakeskin cowboy boots with his blue tux. We really wish the sheer trend would start to die down! Unfortunately for us, it's still alive and well, as evidenced by Denise Gough's Oscar de la Renta gown. Though we weren't fans of the barely-there fabric, we could appreciate the detailing on the ruffled tiers.

Another beautiful ball gown! Best featured actress in a musical winner Tony winner Lindsay Mendez showed up in this dreamy princess-like cream frock by Randi Rahm, which featured pretty crystal embellishments on the bodice and down the full skirt.

Yikes! Thalia's Tony Awards jumpsuit was quite the conundrum! From it's oddly placed gold embellishments to its peplum waist to its one wide leg and one skinny, we weren't fans of this messy frock! But we will give Thalia points for those matching shoes!

Katherine McPhee opted for a sleek, pretty ball gown by Zac Posen. We loved the black frock's delicate floral detailing and the structured strapless neckline. And the back was just as gorgeous as the front! See that next…

Sneakers on the red carpet? Always a no from us! "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" nominee Anthony Boyle committed the fashion offense, finishing off his buttoned-up Alexander McQueen suit with a pair of stark white sneakers.

Not so mellow yellow! We adored Uzo Aduba's bright yellow halter gown, which featured a demure slit up the front. Her cute, low buns added even more fun to this bright, cheery look, and Lorraine Schwartz added the glitz.

Best lead actress in a musical winner Katrina Lenk showed up at the Tony Awards looking ready for a wedding… her own! The star wore this white Georges Chakra number that looked more like bridal than red carpet couture, making this look a miss in our book.

Oh, no! Nominee Ashley Park's Tony Awards ensemble has so many things wrong that we're not sure where to begin! From the massive tulle skirt (that is also sheer) to the oddly placed floral embellishments, this dress left a lot to be desired.
