Katy Perry is stepping up her brand.
The "Firework" singer is now set to become a shoe designer for women. And, she doesn't want customers to have to break the bank for a little fashion forward footwear.
Katy, who already has a makeup line with Covergirl, announced that her collection will include stilettos, sandals, pumps and sneakers.
Dubbed Katy Perry Footwear, the shoes, a partnership with Global Brands Group, will retail between $59 and $299 and are scheduled to be available in February 2015 in major department stores, specialty retailers and websites.
"It's been a creative goal of mine to be a real contributor in the affordable fashion space," she said in a statement. "Launching a footwear collection felt like a natural first step for me."
Katy has been known for having a little, well, sole with her fashion. She often plays around with head-to-toe fashion on red carpets and highly public events. In Las Vegas on Monday where she announced the shoe news, Katy was seen sporting stilettos that featured a cigar as the heel, so that could give you an idea of her fun and funky design ideas.
The singer said she's put in years of research to find the right company to work with, eventually landing on Global Brands. Global, who also works with Rachel Zoe, understands her "vision, eye for detail and have the international reach and resources," Katy said.
Much like the cigar stilettos, expect futuristic materials like Lucite and vinyl with metallics and floral prints from the debut line. Global released sketches of Katy's line and it shows a mix of sexy and whimsical, as the line boasts several strappy shoes and even one with a red race car theme.
"In addition to being one of the biggest music icons of today, Katy Perry is an incredibly talented and creative individual, whose style and confidence speak to women around the world," said Jason Rabin, president and CMO of North America for Global Brands.
